Mandarin Oriental Tokyo launches Christmas, New Year promotions

TOKYO —

The Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo has launched Christmas and New Year promotions. The Indulgent accommodation package is available for guests to enjoy over the festive season, from Dec 19-26. While enjoying sweeping views from the hotel’s luxurious guestrooms, guests can take pleasure in a welcome bottle of champagne, an extended check-out, and a personalised take home gift set of bath- and face-sized monogrammed towels from renowned Japanese brand Imabari Towel.

Premium towels have been created for more than a century in the town of Imabari, located on the island of Shikoku in western Japan. Imabari towels are made from a luxury jacquard weave that is extremely soft and gentle to the skin, while the painstaking production process ensures that the cotton retains its natural absorption qualities. The Imabari towels selected for Mandarin Oriental will be elegantly monogrammed with guest initials in gold thread.

The MO Indulgent package is available for all room types, with rates beginning from 79,000 yen. This package rate assumes double occupancy and are inclusive of a 5% consumption tax and a 10% service charge. A daily municipal accommodation tax of 200 yen per person will be charged separately. Bookings must be made and monogram details of each guest confirmed at least seven days in advance. Other terms and conditions apply.

New Year

Available for a minimum two-night stay between Dec 31 and Jan 2, 2010, the New Year promotion includes daily breakfast and one festive lunch for two at either K’Shiki, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant or Ventaglio, which offers a stylish Italian antipasto buffet. There is also a choice of either a delicious New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day dinner for two at ‘Signature’ or ‘Sense’, the hotel’s much lauded Michelin-starred restaurants.

On New Year’s Day, guests can enjoy a traditional “osechi” breakfast with Otoso sake at Sense located high above the Tokyo skyline on the 37th floor. In addition, during the afternoon of New Year’s Day, guests can also witness a rare performance by traditional Edo fire fighters. Providing a unique insight into local Nihonbashi New Year celebrations, the fire fighters, dressed in traditional Edo costume, will offer blessings for health and peace in the New Year. Guests will also receive an original Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo handcrafted zodiac fan featuring detailed brushwork as a collector’s item and a keepsake in remembrance of their stay.

The New Year Holiday package is available for all room types, with rates starting from 250,000 yen for a two-night and 300,000 yen for a three-night, double-occupancy stay from Dec 31.

The package provides guests with one New Year’s dinner for two at either the French-inspired Signature or authentic Cantonese at Sense, both are one star Michelin restaurants. During their stay, guests are also invited to experience a lunch for two at either all-day dining K’shiki on the 38th floor or the atrium restaurant Ventaglio which serves Italian buffet on the second floor. American-style breakfast for two at K’shiki are also included in the package.

And for an added touch of luxury, guests staying in suites have complementary access to the heat and water experiences in the award-wining The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo.
