Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo offering special package to mark 1st 100 days

TOKYO —

Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo, is offering a special stay package in celebration of having been open for 100 days. For 100 days, until Sept 17, guests can experience a deluxe room from
49,665 yen per night (tax and service charge included), including breakfast and a
100-day commemorative gift, single or double occupancy, subject to availability.

The commemorative gift is a Shangri-La original music compact disc titled “Tokyo Horizon,” launched in celebration of the hotel’s 100-day anniversary. The compilation album is produced by Nick Wood, a Japan-based singer and producer, and contains a tune dedicated to the hotel. Moreover, guests who stay with the 100-day anniversary package will be entered in a prize draw. The winner will be entitled to experience a one-night stay in the
Presidential Suite on level 36, the hotel’s largest room spanning 269 square meters,
which is not yet on general release but is scheduled to be 1 million yen per night.

    This special package is just a scheme to fill all those empty rooms. Quite common with a lot of hotels these days.

    I think for 50K I'd hop on a train, go somewhere new, stay a few days... You know, not spend 50K +++ on a freakin' room in Tokyo.

    go for it. I'll take the hotel and great buffet breakfast. 2nd best I've had in Tokyo
