The Peninsula Tokyo to host international food and wine extravaganza
TOKYO —
The Peninsula Tokyo will host the third annual Cirque Culinaire – a four-day showcase of epicurean excellence featuring a stellar cast of personalities comes from four continents. Decorated with Michelin stars or otherwise feted in their homes and abroad, these professionals are at the very forefront of the culinary, winemaking, and brewing arts.
The weekend of festivities commences with a cocktail reception, charity gala dinner, and live auction to benefit Make-A-Wish Japan on Friday, Nov 19. The Peninsula Tokyo’s forecourt Japanese pine trees and lobby Christmas trees will be illuminated to launch the holiday season and The Peninsula Hotels’ annual worldwide Trees of Hope fundraising initiative. Guests will be invited to purchase and hang an ornament on the lobby Christmas trees, with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish Japan to bring hope to families and children facing life-threatening illnesses.
The Trees of Hope Cocktail Reception will be followed by a six-course charity gala dinner at The Grand Ballroom, uniting the creativity of The Peninsula’s Executive Chef Adam Mathis and Executive Pastry Chef Shigeru Nojima, along with international Chefs Alvin Leung of Bo Innovation in Hong Kong, Yoshiaki Takazawa of Aronia de Takazawa of Tokyo, Luke Mangan of Salt in Tokyo, Sergi Arola of La Broche and Arola in Spain, and Nathaniel Reid of St. Regis Monarch Beach in the USA. Complementing this lavish feast are the renowned wines of Baron Philippe de Rothschild, the presence of its Asia Export Director, Anthony Gourmelm, and a live singing performance by soprano signer Satomi Ogawa. To further benefit Make-A-Wish Japan, a live auction of wine and other fine items will be conducted.
