Tokyo YMCA to hold English summer camp

The Tokyo YMCA is looking for native English speaking volunteers over the age of 18 to help at its summer camp, called “Hello English.” The camp will be held Aug 23-25 at Lake Yamanaka near Mt Fuji. This event was created to help a group of about 40 Japanese children, between 4-12 years old, to learn English through outdoor events, such as games, songs, swimming, boat-riding, camping, etc.

Lodging and food will be provided for the volunteers during the event. Anyone interested in volunteering for the event should email Sarah Ogawa at banana_bread@yahoo.com. Another way to contribute to this event is through a financial donation to help a child from Nonohana-no-ie Children’s Home attend “Hello English” summer camp.
