'Under the Mistletoe,' Sweet Secrets' Charity Auction, chef hotline at Park Hyatt Tokyo

The Park Hyatt Tokyo this year will introduce Christmas “Under the Mistletoe” -- a unique series of interactive events tailored for the holiday season. Beyond its traditions of bestowing good luck on couples kissing underneath, mistletoe is also a symbol of love, peace and goodwill.

“Kissing Under the Mistletoe” Photo Contest

At the hotel's Delicatessen, there will be with a special bench tucked neatly under an inviting mistletoe arrangement. Visitors will be free to take pictures at this cozy spot starting on Saturday, Dec 1 and continuing through to Tuesday, Dec 25.

Furthermore, the hotel will be hosting a competition on Saturday, Dec 22 and Monday, Dec 24 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. for the most romantic photo taken under the mistletoe display. A professional cameraman will be on site to take photos of friends, family and loved ones who wish to capture a special Christmas moment together. The winning photo from both days will receive a complimentary dinner for two at New York Grill, surrounded by dazzling views of the nightscape.

Following completion of the contest, winners will be announced on the hotel’s official Facebook (facebook.com/ParkHyattTokyo) and twitter (twitter.com/ParkHyattTokyo) pages. Photos from the event may also be introduced via these pages.

“Sweet Secrets” Charity Auction

Executive Pastry Chef Anthony Stettler, creator of Park Hyatt Tokyo’s exquisite line-up of delectable confections, will be offering his services for a one-night culinary experience where he will visit the winning bidder’s home and create his original sweets right before their eyes. The winning bidder will be announced on Christmas Eve, with all profits from the auction to be donated to NPO Charity Platform, a not-for-profit organization that strives to bring together NPOs, companies and individuals committed to creating charitable works and provide guidance on how they can put this benevolence into action. Take this opportunity to indulge in Chef Stettler’s extravagant desserts and see first-hand how he creates these delectable treats.

The auction winner can choose between being visited in their home or being hosted at Private Dining on the 40th floor of Park Hyatt Tokyo. Should the winner’s home be outside the 23 wards of Tokyo, transportation and related costs will be at their own expense. The auction prize is valid from Monday, Jan 7, 2013 until Sunday, March 31, 2013. Scheduling and details of the prize will be decided in consultation with the winner following their successful bid. Updates on the current bidding status along with photos of the event will be posted to the hotel’s official Facebook (facebook.com/ParkHyattTokyo) and Twitter (twitter.com/ParkHyattTokyo) pages. *In the event that funds are not received within one week of the winning bidder being notified, their bid will be deemed invalid and rights will pass to the next highest bidder.

Christmas Ornament Class

Come and try your hand at creating an authentic Christmas decoration from carefully selected flowers, under the professional guidance of Tsuneo Fujiyoshi, creative supervisor for Park Hyatt Tokyo’s interior flower arrangements. Following the class, participants can enjoy the hotel’s limited edition Stollen - a traditional German Christmas sweet, while reviewing the finer points of creating ornaments.
