This is in no way "rape". Assange had consensual sex with two different women, and because of Sweden's new sex laws (which have never been tested in court) which require complete disclosure (a ridiculous concept unless you go to every date with a full resume detailing every single relationship you've ever had and require the other person to sign every page to indicate they've read it in full).

Frankly these charges and new laws are ridiculous. I'm not going to go all "conspiracy theory", but the simple fact is that initially judges in Sweden wouldn't support the extradition precisely because they believed the case was unwinnable and the new laws impossible to enforce (see the "full relationship resume" example above). This case is being pursued for purely political purposes and it's a massive waste of time and money.

Extradition from UK to Sweden. From one police state to another. Assange is the Roman Polanski of the cyber set.

Assange is the Roman Polanski of the cyber set.

You know not of what you speak. Polanski is a rapist according to any country's laws. Assange is only a rapist in Sweden.

Frungy is apparently the only commenter here who has followed this story at all. Mr Assange and WIkileaks has been a huge gale of fresh air in the tattered remains of what used to be journalism. He has been completely set up by the USA government in repayment. Follow this one closely, folks. His rights are under attack on numerous fronts and if he goes to jail, our own rights go with him. It's that serious.
