Statistics on UK-EU trade.......
http://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/CBP-7851
There is a world of difference between negotiating a trade EPA/FTA with a third country, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada, and the European Union is just one example and, unpicking an existing trading relationship the UK has with EU27. Then attempting to forge another.
It is mind numbingly reckless to think otherwise.
Calm heads are needed. Refrain from comparing the existing relationship to a marriage It isn't. If the terms of the Lisbon treaty were to just fall away on a given date (March 2019) without an agreed formal legally enforceable arrangement. Expect political and economic turmoil.
Luddite
After last night's Commons vote any agreement has to, quite rightly, be approved by Parliament. You'd think Brexiteers would be happy about this, as Parliament is taking control, but this morning you can hear the whining from space.
