Lost and disillusioned generations... Isn't it also the region with the most criminals and car accidents?... I assume, it's all because of the history. Definitely no place to live...

Maybe another 1/4 won't admit it.

Or, if all the men who have raped admit it, then the survey could be pointing out the high level of honesty in SA.

Doesn't sound like men at all. Sounds like they're a bunch of animals. Not a place I'd want to live, and not a place I'd want any girl I cared about to live.

I don't get it - why would any man want to rape a woman?

Rape, Violence, Aids -are all great ways to destroy society and family. Adding alcoholism and drug abuse would help their cause.

1. If you don't educate yourself (can't read,write, think) then you are truely done for. =You will make a great slave for the rich in control.

Whites are 9% of the population. Blacks are only 79% of the population. The article does not mention race, so I would assume to add the 9% with the 79% and another 12% and then multiply by 0.25 to get the number of offenders.

Just playing devil's advocate, my friend.

Anyway, some pretty sick statistics. I'm glad people are looking to change things, and glad they're being acknowledged, but I agree it's not going to happen right away. I hope they'll change soon, or at the very least improve, though.

Horrendous!

I would love to have access to the raw data. 1,700 households are not a lot of entries and I would like to apply the tests myself. I am not a racist but it is hard to believe that the same percentages occur within each race. It is very common for societies that have emerged late from a more primitive form to be more misogynistic. But to see that level of misogyny in the White Africans seems unusual to me. I am just comparing statistics I have heard in the past with this article that have indicated race as a factor. It may be that the economic status within the stratification is the overwhelming factor in this case. If so, then that in itself speaks volumes.
