No religious background of course, perish the thought. The suicide bomber might have been an buddhist monk or a catholic or a Norwegian milk farmer. I mean, there is no religious background for suicide bombing shahids, according to our media.
Come what will, any connection to the religion of peace must be blocked out.

If the US had killed these people the liberals would be here telling us that the people of the region would run into the arms of the terrorists and support them against America. Since the terrorists who have done the killing this time I guess that means the people in the region will be rushing out to support the US army?
Or does that logic only work one way?

If the US Army doesn't kill any more people in that area - then yes, they may support the US Army. If the US Army keeps on killing people in the area, then they'll support the terrorists over the US - as the terrorists are partly home grown, whilst the US Army are outsiders.

This coming on the suicide attack today in a Pakistan hotel that killed 40.
At least Bush was right in one of his sentiments (probably the only thing right), that the "war on terror" will take forever, thanks to his administration.
No end in sight.

The "war on terror" will take forever, no matter what the administration. Because both parties are blind to the root cause of the terrorism.
