HONG KONG —
The alleged beating of a retired worker by police in mideastern China’s Jiangsu Province prompted a daylong siege of a police station by more than 100 people, a human rights watchdog said Thursday.
The retired worker, whose age and gender were not disclosed, had sought police help recently over a pension fund-related matter but was instead beaten up by the police, the Hong Kong-based Information Center for Human Rights and Democracy said.

Chinese police, real helpful to the old. The old guy most likely will be sent to a re-education prison..Opps what I ment to say was he will be sent to a re-education resort so he will understand what he did wrong.

I hope that the world-wide media attention and the doors opened by the Olympics highlights this in the Chinese government and they take a stand for the old retired guy. < :-)

I`m no expert on China, but with news media operating worldwide, would Chinese authorites really act like this to an old guy?

Maybe not, but other than that or wagging little fist at them, there aren't many other chances. < :-)
