Terrible, terrible news from close to home. My thoughts go out for those who lost loved ones.

Rip and happy recovery. Been to Logan a few times and the houses in the slum areas are far from safe and stuffed to the max with asylum seekers. They all need safety checks, but the local council is too scared to go there.

Asagao, wtf are you on? Logan is a comparatively low income area but Australia doesn't have any "slums", Logan is not "stuffed to the max with asylum seekers" and the houses certainly don't "all need safety checks". Furthermore, there are not any areas in Australia where "the local council is too scared to go". In fact, I wouldn't be surpsised at all if most people in Logan earn more than you and have a far better lifestyle. Next time you just decide to post a comment to glorify yourself GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!

This is a terribly tragedy. The effect upon the victims’ friends and family is unimaginable.

Rest in Peace. Awful tragedy. The Tongan and Samoan communities have been heartbroken by this - as has the wider Australian community. What a sad job for the emergency workers.

I'd agree with banz10's assessment of Logan. While Logan isn't the flashest and most luxurious of areas; it's not too bad. Hardly scary for anyone. The people concerned weren't asylum seekers, but Tongan immigrants. Sad story. RIP all...
