Start focusing on the root cause of the violence, the home, the family or lack of, fatherless families who only live off the government.

It's about time for a National gun registry. We have to register when buying a car; why not when buying a gun? The fact that Americans care more about guns than food ( there are more gun retailers, over 55,000 of them, than supermarkets in America), says a lot about the mentality of the gun lobby.

More guns is the answer. Obviously.

More guns is the answer. Obviously.

Of course. Because more guns equal less death, as everyone with an ounce of logic knows. The number of gun shootings in the US prove this beyond a doubt.

Lawless gangs rule the streets, and police are helpless, because the thugs aren't behind bars, and the police cant shoot back for fear of lying progressives who will create another martyr out of a Michael Brown-type criminal.

The perpetrators of the violence are not lawful gun owners but rather the common street thugs. Place the blame where it belongs.

So were these homemade guns? Or did they do some Minecrafting and craft the guns out of resources they found in the ground?

Or were they originally legal guns?

Chicago's been pretty tough for a while now. I used to work in a large warehouse during the summers on W. Washington Blvd., and one time the police did a weapons search there. Most of us were teens, I was one of the few whites teens there, mostly of the employees there were blacks and Latinos. The Chicago police found guns or knives on a good many of them. The supervisors and managers were pretty shocked about it, but that's just the way it is there. I believe the police officers recovered something like 40 various kinds of weapons in that one sweep.

Oddly enough, there was never any trouble there (at least while I was working there) other than many of these guys were carrying some kind of a concealed weapon. I guess the workplace was declared a neutral zone as far as they were concerned. They were all pretty quiet for the most part and kept to themselves.

Ask the Chicago PD. Some were probably legally owned at some point. Some may have been part of "Fast & Furious", an Obama Administration fumble. Some are illegally imported.

Don't try to lay blame on law-abiding citizens. It's mostly thug-on-thug with some innocent bystanders caught up in the crossfire.

Some? Try all.

An Obama administration fumble that started three years before he even became president. Yeah right. And you do realize, all those guns started out legal right?

Don't try to lay blame on law-abiding citizens

Of course the killings are the responsibility of those who do them. Blaming one for another's actions makes no sense. But the fact that these guys live in an environment where they can get guns because guns are sold on every street corner directly leads to deaths like this. And everyone who promotes legal gun ownership for the citizenry has the responsibility for that. As I said, blame those who are responsible - the gun nuts.

You don't see shoot-up weekends like this in countries where guns are illegal. You do in America, where guns are legal.

Accept responsibility for your actions. You have created this environment. You may not be doing the killing, but you are responsible for them being able to be done.

What do we expect in a country with more gun shops than supermarkets?

If those gangbangers were to take their weapons and shoot up a white suburb, the Air Force would turn every block in their section of the city to rubble. But these are black-on-black crimes and they're tolerated as long as they don't spill over into the white burbs. I'm watching the BBC coverage of Chicago violence now. The only white guy I've seen so far is BBCs correspondent.

Chicago has more homicides this year than LA and NY combined (NY has actually been trending down for the last couple decades - it's a much safer big city).

The North and Lake areas of Chicago are actually doing fine. It's the South and West Chicago where most of the carnage are.

It's also a race control issue. White people create an environment where guns can be bought anywhere. The guns then get into the hands of impoverished gang-bangers, who kill each other, thereby giving a reason for white people to bad-mouth black people for gang activity. Then they feel justified in not hiring black people, because 'you never know'.

That's what thugs do. They don't have a father figure or he was a thug too so they do what they want. That's why people look down on blacks, because they don't try to better themselves. They just want that Govt. check and an occasional looting spree. Sad.

Glad there are so many experts here with all the answers. Thanks for sharing folks.

It's everyone ELSE's fault BUT the person pulling the trigger, therefore YOU shouldn't be allowed to own a firearm.
