I know Russian airlines have a bad reputation (I used to work at a travel agency, we know which airplanes to take and which to avoid) but this sad news about everyone dying in a Russian/Iranian plane, and the Iranian regime trying to put the blame on the USA?? For shame dirty, corrupt Iranian junta in Teheran. RIP dead dudes.

Tehran blames the maintenance woes of its airlines in part on U.S. sanctions that prevent Iran from getting spare parts for some planes.

    Who saw that one comming?

Even with the parts, the US made planes they have are so old that the airframes have all exceeded the compression counts. They wouldn't be allowed to fly in US according to FAA rules, parts or not.

Claps hands, prays for the deceased and their families. This is happening more and more often lately. This is very sad

[Some of the jets in Iran’s fleet are U.S.-made craft bought before the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which led to a cut-off in ties between the nations. U.S. sanctions since prevent Iran from buying parts for those planes or new ones.]

Talk about clipping your own wings!! Good Job Iranian Revolution!! Doom your people to 3rd world airplanes.

I believe its not only the parts they can't buy. They cannot buy entire planes from America or Europe, thanks to sanctions that were imposed for doing something they are completely entitled to do.

They're certainly entitled to design and build their own airplanes as well, aren't they? It's not like "being able to buy a Boeing" is a fundamental human right.

Yes, http://www.jacdec.de/statistics/types/Types.htm. Here you find crash stats of third world class aircrafts, like Boeing 747 'Classic'. Life is easy for the arrogant, is it?

Do you not think that it would be a better idea to wait until we know why this plane went down before you start pointing the finger of blame at any one? There is an expression you might have heard before. It is better to look like a fool saying nothing rather than speak & prove yourself to be a fool. Take it as well intended advice & not an insult, because that is how it is meant.

Iranians should stop using tupolev jets,if possible.

Even Aeroflot is using only 24,the others are airbuses/boeings in the fleet of 99. Aeroflot is not making any new orders for tupolev any more.

Aeroflot is ordering only russian Sukhoi super jet-100 planes in future. All tupolev are to be replaced in future by A320s.

The new sukhoi superjet has engines made by french snecma and russia's NPO saturn. NPO saturn is only responsible for low pressure components in jet engine.

Well, not that Airbus sold out and let the Chinese make a version of the A320 they should be able to get a modern plane. Too bad it will be at the cost of thousands of EU jobs.

[Airbus sold out and let the Chinese make a version of the A320] Well if you trust a Chinese version to fly in go ahead. There is a major quality issue with anything Chinese. Maybe in 50 years they'll be caught up.

[Life is easy for the arrogant, is it?] Sorry I don't follow you.
