What's going on inside people's minds that makes them snap and do this sort of atrocity? Why can't they just go somewhere and chill out? Stop the world, I want to get off.

If I were to listen to the anti-gun people on the other thread, this guy could have comitted "worse", had he held a firearm....
Nutters are nutters. There is no special choice of weapon methinks, just what comes to hand when the bastards snap....

You guys... shameful... scoring political points on the back of someone else's tragedy.

I'm not scoring anything - they geezer is clearly insane. The tragedy nd the suffering goes without saying to normal people.
What is it with JT today? Are all posters going to have to have some kind of sign-off excusing themselves for anyone who might feel offended?

Peace be with the family.

Disagree. The anti-gun crowd does it every time there's any killing no holds barred.

Two wrongs make a right?

Never said it's right or wrong. Simply that it's unfair to call these posters shameful.

How has this de-generated into an anti-Second Amendment debate? There wasn't even a gun used in the crime itself. Thank goodness a policeman had a gun to stop the man from killing the 9-year old. This is just a horrible murder by a crazed killer. There is no way to make sense of this and not much point in trying to make a political issue out of it.

OssanAmerica: "Disagree. The anti-gun crowd does it every time there's any killing no holds barred."
That's because the gun is the source of the sheer number of deaths, and here your first reaction to the thread at hand is to fuel some sort of pro-gun debate because this guy killed two children with a knife. Since you mention it, though, Sarafina would be dead, too, if the guy had a gun, and possibly a couple of officers to boot. And why did the guy serve jail time again? But hey, if there's an anti-kitchen knife crowd then feel free to join, since this guy used a knife to kill two children.
It really is shameful that people would come on here to turn this into reasons why they believe Americans need guns, and started by Madverts of all people. Ossan not saying what happened or posts defending guns on an unrelated thread is not wrong is really no big surprise, but hey.
The poor little girls. Madverts is right about one thing only, and that's that the guy was a nut. I'll be happy if a time comes when others stop suffering at the hands of morons.

Agreed. Sorry I missed your comment and added to the fray. I think Madverts was upset after the other murder rampage thread in the US that DID involve guns, and felt he needed to redeem himself slightly by coming on here and bringing it up. Either way, you're right and politics shouldn't play a part in this, so I won't take part in that debate on this thread any longer. My apologies.

smith,
"It really is shameful that people would come on here to turn this into reasons why they believe Americans need guns, and started by Madverts of all people."
No smith. Please read people's post before going off on a tangent. People can have an opinion differing from your own. Accept it, or avoid debating with people.
