Except for the one soldier who got wounded, this is great news. One can only hope for a counter-attack to wipe out the rest of this cartel...and a legalization of soft drugs that obliterates the cash cow of the other cartels.

Bulletproof vehicles ain't gonna do squat against military equipment. I mean dude, what the hell is wrong with these guys? They're really stupid to try to attack a military base like that.

The drug cartels are trying to take over not just territory from other cartels but whole cities. And Perez should be imprisoned for not just bribery but treason as well. But the pesos he got from the drug cartels kept him in the cartel's pocket for a good long while. Ah corruption, they'll never learn.

Could be. USA invaded plenty of other countries for less than this. I wonder what's stopping them this time.

That is why we have to legalize some drugs and put these thug cartels out of business.

It wouldn't work. They'd just switch to the harder drugs that would remain illegal and continue what they're doing now. Another alternative, of course, would be for people to cut back on marijuana use, which would also cut into the cartel's profits without giving them an alternate stream of income.

Problem isn't the supply, the problem is the demand. People that don't use don't abuse.
