Most are blamed on poor maintenance and human error.

Human error? How about some basic safety measures the first place like not allowing trains to run with people dancing on the roof.

It's a common and very dangerous Indian practice to go a roofs and hang on the sides of trains.

If you're going to ride on the top of a train at least try to stay alert, it's not like the bridge came out of nowhere. As for them being on top of the train in the first place, you gotta do what you gotta do. Before my company started paying for my travel expenses I used to pay off cargo ship crewman to put me up going across the pacific to save a couple hundered bucks.

This is sick! Sick! Sounds like something out of Indiana Jones movie, ah India, where the rich are filthy, filthy rich and the poor get killed on train roofs seeking a better life?

Never been to India have you? This is a very common sight there, where the poor don't bother to buy tickets, rather they just climb on the roof and go. Sad story though. If it was late at night, perhaps they couldn't see the bridge coming up.
