Is the story trans-national crime related? It seems relevant only for the Mexicans.
“They are outrageous acts that reinforce the conviction of the need to fight criminal groups who carry out such barbaric acts with full legal force,” (the Mexican Prez) said.
In other words, give us more aid Uncle Sam!

Let's hope the two facilities are worth $7.7 mil. I'm hoping world class services for that amount of federal money

All this killing going on in Mexico, yet the Mexican president's biggest worry is U.S. immigration laws.
Head, Sand, Bury.

Dang, people can't even go to get help with their addiction problems without the drug bosses getting upset. This is a whole new level for drug violence.

These mass killings make the NRA just ecstatic. They know the weapons from the US are being put to good use. All the while we worry about whether marijuana will get into the country. Make it legal and it will ruin the Mexico drug cartels.
But this was rehab centers. Why would they attack rehab centers? Business so poor that they need more users? < :-)

For too long governments tolerated drug cartels because, while ruthless they were perceived as sensible businessmen driven by the profit motive. Most of the murders the cartels committed were limited to business rivals or dealers who skimmed too much. (The fact that the product they sold was killing people was acceptable, because it was their 'lifestyle choice' -- never mind that they had to engage in prostitution or steal to get money to feed their habit.) This short-sighted tolerance failed to anticipate what is happening now and it's clear that Mexico is descending into anarchy. If the U.S. implements laws that deprive Mexicans of one of their few escape valves -- illegal emigration -- the next step may be civil war. If that happens, the U.S. would have few options but to post armoured divisions on the north bank of the Rio Grande.

Mexico is a bloody FAILED STATE. Seriously dudes!! What a messed up country. The solution to its drug cartel problem is staring it right in the face: LEGALIZE EVERYTHING & put the cartels out of business. Obviously they won't do it since I'm sure some government fat cats are making a killing (pun intended) from DRUG MONEY. Makes perfect sense to me.

While Americans north of the border get stoned and high on Mexican drugs, giving the narcos billions of dollars to go buy American machine guns to then kill off their rivals south of the border, people here think it is only a Mexican problem. America is full of drug addicts, this illegal drug consumption in the USA feeds the need for more and more violence in Mexico, Colombia and every country in between. This American hipocracy is well known in Cuba, where Fidel makes sure none of the drugs poison the island. Thanks to the USA, many countries like Mexico,Colombia, Peru, Boliva will keep producing as long as the huge demand for drugs by Americans is there. Very simple, supply and demand. If Americans keep bending over backwards for drugs, DEMAND, it would not matter if Mexico nor Colombia stop sending drugs to the USA, because any other number of countries are just ready to jump into this multibillion dollar a year market, Russia, China, India etc...

"President Felipe Calderon, whose war with drug cartels has seen nearly 23,000 people killed since he took office in late 2006, issued a statement condemning the shootings.
'They are outrageous acts that reinforce the conviction of the need to fight criminal groups who carry out such barbaric acts with full legal force,' he said."
Ha ha ha. Calderon sounds like the drug kingpin in Miami Vice that Crockett was always trying to nail. It's so obvious Calderon and his Mexican fat cat politicos are PART of the DRUG PROBLEM in Mexico. Ya think they're making money out of the illegal drugs trade?? Hell yeah!! But I'm shocked that the Mexican people actually put up with this nonsense. I don't believe that country has a real democracy anyways.

Oh yes because the Cuban government is so righteous, they never have their citizens killed or imprisoned or shut down communications with the outside world. Fidel and his butcher Guevara were more a blight on the land than drugs could ever be.

Were the people killed at the Mexican rehab centers American? Seems like Mexicans have their own issues with consumption. But I've seen your statements before......you just bury your Mexican head in the sand and point one finger north.
