Things like this always restore my faith in America.
Welcome to Congress Mr.Cao may you serve all the people well in your district. Just by reading this article and of your background your character really shines through, I believe you will do just that.
Congratulations Sir

congratulations Mr. Cao. I don't agree with your abortion stance, but if that is what the voters wanted, then I can't complain.
I am sure as hell happy you knocked that crook Jefferson out of the ring though. What a cunning politician.

Another advancement for minorities in America made possible by the party of Lincoln.

It's good to see that Jefferson is out and it's good to see that the "minorities" are gaining ground on the political level. But when he says that “It was something that I was called to do, literally, in the religion sense,” and then “The only thing I am certain of is that I am anti-abortion”, I get the feeling that voters just jumped out of the frying pan into the fire. Another fundamentalist stooge, controlled by the clerics? Hope my impression about this guy is wrong...

A Vietnamese American(Mr Cao) in US congress, a Japanese American(Mr Shinseki) in Obama cabinet, Asian minorities are doing well in the land of opportunity.

Glad to see a minority in the position. Hope he doesn't prove to be a fool with his stances on abortion and religion, but I guess we'll see.

I still don't understand why we need to categorize people by ethnicity.
You come from Sri-Lanka? Japan? Italy?
I don't care. We have the same opinions. I'll vote for you to represent me.

"It also confirms a general shift to the Republican Party in Louisiana"
I thought the Republican Party was dead. Guess not!
"I still don't understand why we need to categorize people by ethnicity."
Behold Barack Obama, the first black President-elect!
