"Miscreants?" What a weird word to use for this.

"Depraved or behaving badly." Ok so this fits. But why Miscreants? Was this attack carried out by frustrated teens looking to hurt someone? Or criminals who were taking some kind of revenge on the mosque?

What is the story here. Miscreant suggests some kind of criminal motivation. But this sort of thing is usually political. So who did this and why. This article tells us nothing.

I agree, this is a very time wasting article which will only makes people assumes and promotes bad impressions on Islam. Its really sad that something like this happens to a group of people praying together in a holy month. Im appaled by the lack of humanity the readers shows. Theyre more concerned by dead whales then dead humans.

But let's face it, it happens 99% of the time in Islam. This is because the Koran contains many verses that are hard to interpret as anything other than incitement to kill unbelievers. Islamic terrorists frequently cite these verses as justification for their acts, so this is not merely an 'Islamaphobic' opinion. And in the Muslim world, even Muslims of different sects are classed as unbelievers, and are thus fair game.

The old testament has just as many passages about killing their neighbors in the land they emigrated to by the way. No, I am not antisemitic. Christians have killed many people in the name of god. The Hebrew text that tells the Jews to kill their neighbors is from a distant past. The various sects of Judaism do not follow that way of life; but some individuals still want to destroy the Muslims.

The followers of Islam are the same by and large. The difference is the time we are living in and the cultural, economic and other social conditions that some Muslims are living with. I am agnostic so I can demonize just about any religion short of Buddhism. Religion may be a great vehicle to spread hate but that is not the root of hate and violence. Stop demonizing Islam. It is funny because Buddhists are in the best position to criticize other religions but a true Buddhist would not do that. Why do you think that is?

Getting back to my point. Why don't you see Muslim violence against the "unbeliever" in America? I am not stupid; I know about 9/11 but it actually helps support my opinion. Why couldn't they find one single Muslim American citizen to commit such an act of violence? Why haven't we had any Muslim American citizens since then commit violence on Non-Muslims in America? Let's face it you can't say because they are afraid of getting caught. I say that because suicide bombing is a common practice for the fundamentalist Muslim terrorist. I believe very strongly that if and when Muslim communities around the world share in the prosperity and freedom that I take for granted as an American the severe violence will dissipate. It will become a fond memory of fundamentalist Christians who want to rail against Muslims and promote hatred.

Am I denying that Muslims are spreading hatred and violence? Hell no! I am saying that it is a relatively small percentage and that it is not because they are Muslim. Let me reiterate. If it is because they are Muslim why not in the U.S.? I have Muslim friends that are good people. If you try to convince me they are hiding a deep sinister hatred and reserving their violence for a coming day I will call you a bold faced liar. I will also know that you are the one promoting hatred.

Someone said it (terrorism) happens 99% of the time in Islam; that is probably true or close to being true. However, it does not happen with 99% of the Muslims. Don't get me wrong I am not saying individuals and groups are not using verses in the Koran to promote the hate and the killing but if the Islamic faith did not exist and everything else was the same in the world, there would be and equal amount of hatred, violence and killing; they would have found another vehicle to inspire the people. Make the haters lives better and you will reduce the violence. This holds true for the ghettos of America also as we have seen violence drop when there was an over abundance of jobs in America.

I feel very sorry for the people who were hurt by this attack in a mosque.

Name a case when a Jew threw an explosive / flammable device into a Synagogue? Doesn't happen. Has it ever, in history, happened?!

OK name a case where Christians in the name of Christianity used explosives or burned Churches? Not a hard one. In American South, KKK burning Churches with mostly black church goers.

OK name a case where Muslims in the name of Islam targetted Mosques? Happens all the time. Common practice!

What the white washers (these are the people that never stop talking or writing) aren't talking about is the frequency of Mosques being used as weapon factories, weapon storage facilities, escaping after an attack into them, or just deciding to attack worshippers.

This is why Islam is referred by many as the "Religion of Peace"

The old testament has a lot of stories about cruel things that one tribe did to another tribe. Or god did to one tribe, or both tribes. The old testament does NOT contain a consistent call on the the believers to hate and fight the unbelievers, as the Koran does. In addition, the old testament is moderated by the more important new testament. The Koran does not have a new Koran to moderate it.

The person of founder is very important here. It makes a big difference if a religion is founded by a pacifist, celibate hippie, or by a plundering, slave-taking warlord.

If you mean that radical islam is a result of powerty, you are dead wrong. Saudi Arabia is one of the richest countries in the world, and you look at prominent jihadists, you will see that more often than not they are wealthy. Bin Ladin himself is a billionaire.

Actually, you see plenty. Only the islam connection is usually blanked out in the media. Google for "sudden jihad syndrome + USA" and you should find names.

Actually, they could. The first attempt to blow up the WTW in 1993 had domestic players.

There are plenty of moderate muslims, but islam itself is not moderate. What happens if your muslim friends begin to visit radical mosque and discover the real islam?

Of course not all muslims are jihadists, but the jihadist message is only directed at muslims.
