For Lufthansa to come out as a whistle blower? They must have been doing many naught things, then get the FBI to get their attention and say something like, Hey Fritz, we know what you are up to and if you do not blow the whistle well, then you all will really be in trouble, just letting my imagination go, but I guess that with the price of gasoline, air fuel etc..skyrocketing through the roof, I would probably do the same if I was in the airlines shoes. Danke!

Not surprising. That's one of the reasons I don't feel bad (not for the executives, anyway) when one of these carriers goes belly-up. They are greedy and reckless with thoughts mainly on their profit margin. Kudos to Lufthansa for blowing the whistle even though the motive may only have been to protect their own rear if/when caught.

I don't support these illegal agreements but where is the biggest crook there ? Is'nt it the one who conspires and then the betrayed his fellows ? It looks like old Western films from the sixties... Lufthansa CEO in ancient times should have committed seppuku...

So all that fuel surcharge bullshit was just bullshit, right? All these years we've been furnishing Harry Executive's plush NY apartment when the whole damn scheme was bullshit. Personally I have never trusted airlines since Qantas stitched me over in the 80's and even worse trying to fly JAL in the 90's. And now it was all a match-fixing lie. Thanks a million. Hope you all go bankrupt, scammers.

Airlines like fuel surcharges as they devalue the miles they award. If I want to use ANA miles to fly to London they still want me to pay around Y50000 in surcharges, taxes and fees. So much for "free flights".

Also ,the fuel surcharge is only applied to overseas flights, whereas domestic flights are exempt. It's nothing more than a con and should be outlawed.
