Horrible stuff. Let's hope they can find out how it happened, and how such things can be prevented in the future. For the sake of not only Russia but everywhere. In the meantime my thoughts are with the people caught up in this.

Historically, Russia has been in bad shape throughout (its history). It remains in bad shape. And I have every reason to assume it will remain in bad shape in perpetuity. Russia is at constant war with the Chechens. No one really knows how horrible that battle is because there is no information provided or . . . uh . . . available, shall we say? Besides, Russian journalists who report the truth have short life spans in Russia. Many have been murdered. No arrests are made. Yet Russia is so desperate for funds that while it is crushing or trying to crush Chechnya rebels (Muslims) it sells weapons to nice countries like Iran (Muslims). Morever it actively blocks UN sanctions against Iran. Still, helping Iran does not appear to appease the Islamic Chechens for some mysterious reason . . . . Nor do I suppose the Russian army treats the Chechens none too well.

And then there was that nasty incursion into Georgia, a sovereign nation.

The Russians might want to reconsider their support of a terrorist state like Iran while Chechen Islamist terrorists are blowing up its trains.

Or Russia should perhaps just pull out of Chechnya altogether.

As I said, Russia is was and will remain a confused country.

People still leave Russia when they can.

How many people do you see emigrating to Russia?

That tells you a lot.

Russia needs friends. This is too bad. I guess everyone knows that the fashion in Russia is to blame the west for their problems since 1990, right? I wonder who this will get pinned on.

Ashika, they also have a nasty libs vs. cons (socialists vs nazis?) thing going on in Moscow that has gotten very ugly recently.

Ashika makes the point that this could be anyone doing this. Surrounded by so many enemies, most of whom are pretty heinous, you would think that Putin would look for friends where he can find them, but he is not Mr. Congeniality. I wonder if someone like Gorby would fare better or worse.

A good rant, Ashika! Too bad it's a lack of facts. So let me fill the gap.

Or Russia should perhaps just pull out of Chechnya altogether.

Once Russia pulled out of Chechnya. The result - no law zone, the rampage of people abduction and borders attacks, and finally, the thugs from Chechnya invaded neighboring Dagestan in an attempt to annex it.

How many people do you see emigrating to Russia?

http://www.nationmaster.com/country/rs-russia/imm-immigration The numbers are positive.

Russia needs friends

Personally, I believe that country cannot have friends countries aren't individuals. What Russia needs is to have less haters.

P.S. Selling weaponry to Iran violates no international law. Please, don't confuse U.N. with U.S.
