"Allah, Arabic allah, for al-'ilah, ie AL-, (the) 'ilah god = Aramaic elah, Hebrew eloah."

What?! What are they supposed to use then? The radicals will find any reason to get pissed off and blow something up!

Muslims argue that “Allah” is exclusive to Islam, and its use by Christians would confuse Muslims and tempt them to convert to Christianity.

Just like using Buddha or Anubis or some other diety, right? Ugh, so stupid!

Alahh... I will allaugh my butt off at this ridiculous reason to fire bomb churches.

From Wikipedia, "Allah" is the Arabic word for "God" used by Arab-speaking and most Arabic-descended members of the Abrahamic faiths - including Christianity and Judaism. From my point of view, they shouldn't be angry as it refers to the same deity - the one worshipped by Abraham.

What a mess. Maybe the Christians should just use another word.

Islamic law outclasses government law is the name of their game. Sadly it was the early Malaysian government law that allowed islamic law to crawl in and lord it over the country. Disgusting religious ideology that.

It's not the Christians' fault that Islam is the youngest of the great global religions and had to borrow an older Arab word for "god."

Just boycott all muslim nations ...don't tour them, don't do business with them, and don't provide any international aid...Leave them alone with their allah.

Let`s get together and feeel all right.Hoping a Muslim person will come on here and explain these actions.

sharky is right and as soon as I can get an electric car I'm going to thumb my nose at the Islamists and their oil. But in the meantime I'll thumb my nose at the Islamists. Allah does not approve of their actions, of that I am sure. Certainly not any Allah that I would bow to.

Sure! Give in to muslim demands for superiority. And after you give in to one demand, there well never be another one, right?

That is the typical pattern, and I am sure it makes you feel better to know that the UK also has allowed islamic law to creep in, with its recent decision to allow Shariah "arbitration panels".

    They will reap the rewards.

A lot of them have caused a lot of misery.

  • 0

    Madverts

Yeah sarge, just like all the other weak-minded religious types. The muslims are at their heyday with modern technology on their side - jews and christians also caused a lot of misery if you'd care to sit down with williB and read a history book.

  • 0

    Sarge

Yeah, Madverts, I'm not denying that non-Muslims have caused misery. But it's clear that certain Muslims are a clear threat to peace.

"But it's clear that certain Muslims are a clear threat to peace."

To you perhaps - I think all religions are a threat to peace. I have no wish to deny people their own religious denial of lifestocomplextoexplain.....it's like hardcore sex to me.

Out of sight and don't push it onto me.

    Madverts:

" To you perhaps - I think all religions are a threat to peace. "

You think wrong. There is only that makes war on the unbelievers a holy duty and declares that "peace" has only been achieved once the whole world has been submitted to its rule. Guess which one that is.

Here is a hint: It is neither Zoroastrianism nor Buddhism...

Apparently, there is another Malay word for 'god' - tuhan. While Allah usually means the almighty and is commonly used to refer to the Muslim almighty. But the Catholic church's point in Malaysia, in using Allah (as opposed to Tuhan for example) is:

The Malay-speaking indigenous tribespeople, living in remote states of Sabah and Sarawak, are the main readers of the Herald’s Malay-language edition. Catholic officials say “Allah” is the only word they know for God.

Gosh, religion makes no sense to me.

Malaysia is not poor nation or poor peace nation.

Anyone with a motorbicycle, can make home made molotov cocktails. They can make more churches/mosques/temples in one day,so much buildings for renting.

    rajakumar:

" Anyone with a motorbicycle, can make home made molotov cocktails "

Yes, but only muslims do. Strangely, Christians and Hindus do burn down each others churches and temples. Strange how these religious misunderstanders always appear in one religion, isn´t it.

Next thing you know Muslims will demand exclusive use of Moses, Abraham, and Jesus - all prophets according to the Quran but totally misinterpreted by Christians and Jews according to Islam.

Let's get the facts straight. Christians and Jews certainly had their way committing genocide and waging war on their neighbors, but most of that was thousands of years ago. Their "golden age" of hypocrisy and wickedness is in history books and the Old Testament. The "golden age" for Islam's hypocrisy and wickedness is today. Thus among the three religions they are equally flawed but at different time periods. Today, it is Islam.

And you can't say that about "all religeons". Buddhism and Zoroastrianism don't have waging war and genocide as part of their official doctrine.

Wow, I'm really confuded by this. JT used the word "Allah" seven times in the story. Does this mean that JT should be fire bombed? Most posters above, including myself have used the word "Allah" in our posts. Does this mean we should be fire bombed also? If so, this really sucks!

Are there any muslim readers out there that can clear this up? I sure this must be a simple mistake.

    TheQuestion

A bit hard for me to wrap my brain around stuff like this. I'm Catholic, so I get my daily regimen of religious bashing from every source of media imaginable starting in the morning with a newspaper, priest jokes told at work, and a slew of other related media. But I'm hard-pressed to think of even one instance where I went outside of cool apathy on the emotional spectrum.

  • 0

    bdiego

Well if it makes you feel better, all the bashing is about the religeon, not your beliefs. There's a difference between God and the people who pretend to follow God.

  • 0

bdiego- great post. I agree, there is a big difference between God and human pretenders, who pretend to follow god,for materialistic gains.

Nope, people act on their beliefs. The malaysians who terrorise Christians act on their religious command to hate and fight the unbelievers. Note also that, as typical, these attacks occured after the Friday prayer at the mosque... always the same.

Now guess where they got the inspiration from.

This is terrible! To kill and destroy just because you disagree with the name some group of believers use for God. They really need to learn tolerance.
