"At least 4,250 members of the U.S. military who have died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count."

That doesn't include the suicides after they come back. The base I work at has had 3 already this year. It just hurts; it really does. These kids deserve so much better.

“It is a good thing that Interior Ministry succeeded in arresting Maysoun al-Hashemi’s killers ... although it took to long to find them,” he said.

I'm glad that they are doing their jobs. Now let's start packing and safely leaving the biggest mistake that we've ever committed. < :-)

"the biggest mistake that we've ever committed"

Yes, I'm sure that President Obama would just love to have to deal with Saddam Hussein along with everything else right now.

I agree with Sarge. Telling it as it is as always. If saddam was still causing chaos and supporting terrorists through the MId East, Obama would sit back and "engage in talks" with the guy.

Ontherecord, Sarge what Terrorist, what wmd's? Iran has the training camps and WMD's while Bin Laden has alwys been sighted in Afghanistan.

It is good to see how some people believe the Bush Propaganda.

sarge: "Yes, I'm sure that President Obama would just love to have to deal with Saddam Hussein along with everything else right now."

Saddam was never a problem, sarge... all of the 'intelligence' was proven lies, and there were no threats to the US. US oil interests, perhaps, but not to the US as people like yourself claim, and likewise the US is not 'safer' for getting rid of Saddam. Saying 'Obama would have had more to deal with' with Saddam being alive is like saying Obama has a lot to deal with with Liberia. Worse than that is you pretending the situation in Iraq now is less stressful that what would have been had there been no illegal invasion -- which is to say, no bother to the US at all.

sarge: sorry... I just want to clarify your position one more time. You're saying that Obama would have more problems if there were no Iraq War? How about the near $900 Billion that have gone into it -- guess he wouldn't need a stimulus package, eh?

Anyway, I feel sorry for these young men and their families. The boys never should have been there. But hey, so long as people like sarge can come on here and try to figure out a way in which Iraq actually threatened the US and say the world is therefore now better off... I guess these boys' lives are worth it.

Sarge and his ilk will forever believe george bush. They will forever justify anything and everything, even though there is no justication.

The American military should never have entered Iraq. There was no reason, ever.

We were justied in 1991, not in 2001.

These 3 soldiers and the other 4250+ should never have died. They died to make dick cheney richer. < :-)

Great post Sarge. These soldiers didn't die in vain. They died for freedom and to be victorious in the war on terror.

"Bush refused and has destroyed the peacefull nation illegaly"

Or, Bush has ridden the country of an awful regime and given the country the opportunity to elect its own leaders. Illegally, of course ( roll eyes ).

    ontherecord,

What freedom have I, as an American citizen gained, because of the sacrifice of the 4500+ U.S. servicemembers in Iraq?

"What freedom have I, as an American citizen gained, because of the sacrifice of the 4500+ U.S. servicemembers in Iraq?"

Not one, Taka, not one single freedom. In fact, due to the 'war on terror' and bush's policies, you LOST freedoms.
