that's the problem with Canada's waiting-list health care system. --> this young man could have been saved, but now 35 people will be charged with his death.
police moved in on a group of unarmed men in a local park."
Just out of no where they decided to shoot this guy? Any reason stated as to why he was shot?
I heared it from some Canadians that used to be Old Bill an the Mounties or whoever arrived first on the scene of a disturbance like this could just toss a puck an a few hockey sticks into the fray an things would work themselves out natural like.
One problem with this situation is that during the protest, a police officer was shot, thus confirming that the police were not that unreasonable to fear for their safety. Its a little more difficult to cry out racism in such a case.
Badsey, Canada's waiting list health care system is a major pain in the neck, but when you've been shot 3 times in a city like Montreal, you are treated promptly. That is not why he died.
Fredy Villanueva's brother (known gangster on parole) was suppose to arrested/questioned by the 2 police officers who went to the park. When apparently a group of 20 kids/young adults who were playing dice in a park with the brothers, mobbed the 2 police to stop them from taking Fredy's and put the female officer in a head lock and beat her up to the point where she had to go to hospital(allegedly, the police aren't able to release information about her condition yet) and the other police officer shot into the crowd to protect the female officer, hitting Fredy three times in the chest and wounded two others.
It had nothing to do with wait times at the hospital. The riot was much the same as Paris, with an unemployed immigrant population feeling marganilized, that felt they are unnessarily being prosecuted. They were allowed to immigrate to Quebec because the speek french not because they are employable.
