Those lives shall not perishing like this way if Al Gore or John Kerry managed to be the president of United states! The Iraq war was definately unnecessary and a 'life saver' of the Taliban!

How many more families Stateside or in allies' countries need to hear this news before this unwinnable war for oil is brought to an end? What do you tell the last man to die? And for what? Lies.

"America's getting ( its ) arse kicked"
Could you go check the numbers of Americans killed and Taliban killed, and then get back here and admit you are so wrong?

To me it doesn;t matter who many have died compared to the other...no one should die...one dead american is one to many!

"no one should die ( be killed )"
I agree. However, the Taliban make that impossible.

But they won't. That's why they have to be captured or killed.

The enemy you leave alive today will only come back tomorrow. If we we're to leave that area the least we can do is destroy its economic and political infrastructure (what little there is) so we can get a 10 to 15 year buffer zone while they kill each other for supremacy. But as long as we're there we can at least sharpen our teeth and test out new tech and tactics.
The president doesn't have that power, he lacks many. Even with a majority in the senate and the house they can barely have the willpower to wipe their own noses let alone send a themselves to a war zone.

right, as it has been forever this way, and has always been. But still it's a war that will never be won..test tech and tactic of course is far more important than lives!
Of course he/they dont have that power, they are ppl who have others wipe there arses for them, so they don't get their hands dirty...but they can at least have a heart and see being in Afghanistan, is a waste of time and money..

To the U.S military it is.
By sending our military to fight in other parts of the globe we have cultivated the second most experienced fighting force on the face of the earth (I only say second because Israel's state of constant warfare with hostile neighbors since its inception has made for a very competent machine.). We're learning what weapon systems work and what don't. We're developing new strategies for discovering land mines, IED's, and uncovering enemy insurgents. We're fine tuning the ways that wars can be fought and won (and quickly discovering that 'hearts and minds' isn't the way to do it). We're figuring out the best ways to use civilian resources as well as the do's and don'ts of PMCs. And other nations know that is what we are doing. Victory in Afghanistan is not the ends but rather a means to attain a better equipped and experienced military.
We could have left Afghanistan when we toppled the old government, put another in its place, and destroyed the coordinated military overnight and nobody would have questioned the victory. They may criticize us for not mitigating the chaos such an action would cause but it would be an unquestionable victory, but it was too fast and to easy. The insurgency has given us the opportunity for a long term, low intensity training exercise that has made the U.S's military into one comprised almost entirely of veteran soldiers.

Gee sarge, didn't they tell you there's rather a lot of them?
I wonder why Karzai with the backing of the US sec. of state is encouraging neogation with the Taliban?
Looks like you're not getting with the programme there, camper.

I know there are a lot of Taliban.

It's Karzai and Hillary who aren't getting with the program. And, heh, you forgot the "'lil."
