Given Britain’s history in Afghanistan they should know never to trust any Afghani.

If these policemen are not part of the Taliban or Al Qaeda -- and it is likely they have no connection whatsoever -- is speaks to the myriad of other reasons for Afghan grievances against what they perceive as foreign intruders.
I take exception to the word "rogue." He may not have acted according to the wishful thinking of Westerners, but there is little doubt his actions make perfect sense to a great many Afghans. Westerners need to start viewing Afghanistan through the eyes of a wider variety of its people than just the Pashtun elites who are trying to run the place.
Peter Galbraith says the incident is not surprising. I think he has it right.

Given Britain's history of colonization and directing other nations how to run their affairs, they should know that they will need to earn the privilege of others' trust.

The Nato war against Islamic terroisms was a complete failure! This want an attack by an Al Qaida insurgents disguising as a policman but he was an active duty policeman! The fact is the Kazari govt was corrupted, pointless and fragile! He was in power more 9 years and nothing has achieved! The Nato was tasting the bitter fruits they seeded! It was Carter, Brezenski,Regan,Thatcher...these bunch of fanatics supporting the islamic jihadists in the 1980s coverting Soviets! Now their boys were dying under those 'ungratitute former allies' everyday and they deserved it!

The condition of afghanistan was worst than south vietnam and that reflected how dire the quagmire now NATO is facing! The ARVN were notorious of deserters but they never bite their master feeding them! Now the Afghans bitting back with 'ungratitute and unpredictable' resentment to their master. It seems the afghan war was more nasty than vietnam! Not all the Nato members can sustain such long and mounting casualties, each of them will abandon their oath and leave the war that doesnt belongs to them! Nato will be no longer Nato!

its disgusting and repulsive, these murderous people are. its further proof of their bloody, medieval thinking. let them be! they cannot be changed. let them descend to chaos because they themselves want this madness to continue in their country. seal off the borders, let them organize their bloody thoughts.

Everywhere the British colonized was better off for our having been there.
