They should find a South Korean prison a big improvement to the standard of living they have in Somalia.

At least they didn't "fall overboard." Let's hope that they receive some sort of educations so that, when they are released (and it will be back to Somalia, doubtlessly), they will be equipped to make some sort of difference.

25 years at hard labor on a kimchi diet. On a more serious note good to see a country that defends its own people, just hope this gets some airplay in Somalia, but doubt it will. At present it seems to the pirates the potential gain is worth the risks.

They have a special prison in Korea for foreigners. It is top notch with all kinds of great facilities. Those pirates were lucky that they got arrested by Koreans.

Plus, the prison offers Western food and satellite TV programmes in English, Chinese, Russian and Arabic. A number of the guards are fluent in English, Russian or Chinese. They get education and have access to a library with foreign books.

Eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. This is Islamic rule. Somalia is an Islamic nation. Korean government action is quite correct.

Its not enough. Everyone knows what they need to do, but no one has the stomach or the will to do it. Until someone does, the world will continue to suffer from pirate attacks by criminal gangs operating out of Somalia.

Woha, lets hope South Korea doesn`t coddle them like Germany when they take them into the country for a trial. I wonder if they can be subcontracted to North Korea for their jail sentence? That would at least be a tad of deterrent.

Pork diet would be more of an incentive for them not to it again. And of course, no subsequent asylum visa for them and their clans, the way the Europeans do it.
