Whole sichuan province,should change its building laws to adjust to earthquakes protection modes. 22,000 lives lost could have easily been changed to only 500 or less.
This strict earthquake protection laws is only followed in developed richer countries or rich cities in china. Only when sichuan,china achieves developed status,it may be able to implement more dynamic earthquake protection laws.

I can't find words to describe the magnitude of this tragic calamity. My deepest condolence to all those suffering from this earthquake.
Beyond that, I am very impressed with their whole handling of it.

The pictures look like Dante´s Inferno. And whole towns. I expect the number will go higher than then 50,000 they are talking about now.
