“ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.”

I saw that speech, and I disagree with the above.

I think that today John Kennedy could not call himself a member of the Democrats' party. He was Catholic, he was unashamed about his pro-America feelings, he said America must go anywhere in this world to defend liberty. He was for the exploration of space. He wanted to cut taxes, he was the last of the Democrats who understood that is how to grow your economy. He would be slandered as a neo-conservative in this day and age. But he was a good man.

“ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.”" don't take our money and we probably could do a lot more.... and a lot better than the gov

I saw that speech, and I disagree with the above." Not live, right?

He would be slandered as a neo-conservative in this day and age." I agree, but many back home are still upset over his handling of the bay of pigs...

Irony is with the election last November and the death of Ted the Kennedy clan is no longer represented in Washington. But Democrats are talking about getting a Kennedy to take the place of joe Lieberman.

ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.

We went from his words to what we have today. Somewhere along the time line people discovered they could get more money by being on the government dole than working at a job.

Sadly, today America has too many generational leeches and moochers, which was not Jack's idea of America.

If you mean that a corpse of nearly 48 years would likely be a Republican, I tend to agree with you. Ditto someone frozen in time and not capable of growth or change. However, I am old enough to remember everything about the inauguration and the Kennedy administration and you could not be more wrong.

    He was Catholic

    So? Many Democrats are Catholic.

he said America must go anywhere in this world to defend liberty

Yes, he said that, but notice that he didn't invade Cuba or send combat troops to Laos or Vietnam as urged on by some in the military and government.

Many among the Republicans at the time purely loathed Jack Kennedy.

Too bad the commie loser Oswald killed him. LBJ was the worst thing that ever happened to America.

That zombie is not going to die easy is it. The USA itself is evidence that the whole idea that cutting taxes makes economies grow is nonsense. Don't get me wrong I hate taxes as much as anybody, but they are a symptom, not the disease.

Somewhere along the time line people discovered they could get more money by being on the government dole than working at a job.

I suspect Romeo has no clue how correct his comment is, or just who exactly is on the dole.

LBJ was the worst thing that ever happened to America.

Sorry Tea, but I have lost track of how many "worst" things have happened to America. Maybe you could make a list of the top 100 "worst" things so we heathens can keep up. "Educate the public" as the lefties like to say.

Too bad the commie loser Oswald killed him.

Too bad the gangster and soon-to-be cancer victim Jack Ruby suddenly found patriotism too. Never been much of a Kennedy conspiracy theory guy myself, but the events of the last three years of so have made me skeptical of my skepticism.

Presidents are, more often than not, remembered for their failures than for their accomplishments. The only thing that tends to alter this trend is an assassination, it then becomes disrespectful to mention these shortcomings. My family certainly remembers the Bay of Pigs, we needed thousands. We got 1,500 and some limited air support.

If it had gone right maybe I would be chilling in Santa Clara right now instead of freezing in Detroit. Maybe take some time out of my schedule to dance on the grave of Che Guevara.
