Fortunately, it doesn't appear to have been malicious, this time. How long though until we see a truck used a weapon of mass destruction targeting a street thronged with pedestrians in the heart of some Western city?

Tragic as this is, the Sky News coverage was just awful. Basically called Glasgow a city repeatedly struck by tragedy as it had had the helicopter accident over a year ago for which the memorial service was held a fortnight ago. total lack of irony set against events in AfPak or Iraq/Syria or Palestine or numerous other places where thousands and more have died in the last year.

Check the news. In France, there have been 3 vehicular jihad accidents in the last 3 days. Safe to say, more are to come.

Condolences to the families of the bereaved.

Those attacks aren't getting much news coverage, unfortunately. Gee, I wonder why not?

Kaerimashita... irony has nothing to do with it. Glasgow is in mourning for those who died yesterday in a horrible, tragic accident. Why even bring Afghanistan and Pakistan into it? I'm glad my fellow Glaswegians aren't as cold as you appear to be.

Jeff... the French attacks have been covered by the BBC here in the UK. Even as we were digesting the shock of the bin lorry accident they broke with the news that a nutter had driven a transit van into shopping crowds in Nantes.

My heart goes out to all those who died, those who lost loved ones and those in hospital.
