In the past I've been in support of Russia enriching Iran's uranium, but the more that Iran keeps running around and subverting agreements, the more I dislike what I'm seeing. I understand why they want uranium for power plants. I personally am against "any" country having nukes. But looking at it from a nuclear arms world of course they want them, just like Russia and Israel.
So I'm for continuing the pressure on Iran to not get nukes. I'm just not sure how far you can go to keep them from getting them. < :-)

6 world powers to Iran: Do as we say, not as we do.

Actually that would be Russia, Russia has the most and biggest atomic bombs, the largest ever atomic bomb ever made along with being detonated was the Tsar bomb made by the soviet union.
You should know your facts before saying them neverknow2.

[and who used them against Japan] Yeah well I guess it was us first. Because if things went the other way Germany or Japan would have used them first.

The NPT allows Iran to do what its doing.
I wonder what the real reasons are for going after Iran instead of going after a real terrorist state that has already developed nuclear WEAPONS and refuses to join the NPT, despite a UNSC resolution urging it to join.

Sabi, can you cite the specific parts of the NPT where it says Iran is allowed to not cooperate with the IAEA?
If not, just give me the usual filler about Israel.

When Bush was president and pressuring Iran, you were an outspoken cheerleader for the Iranian nuke program. But now that Obama is president and pressuring Iran, you're all for "continuing the pressure". Is this really the depth of your political decision making?

Supe, can you cite specifically how Iran is not following the requirements of the NPT?

The IAEA has reported numerous times that Iran has not been cooperating with the safeguard process by willingly withholding information about their nuclear program.
Stop trying to debate with me and add your usual propaganda about Israel....seriously....

Supe, my understanding is that all of Irans nuclear material is accounted for, and that it has followed the NPT rules. It is also my understanding that Iran has accepted additional safeguards. I know the MSM and puppet leaders like to whine about Iran being a bad boy, but I would like to know how Iran has allegedly specifically refused to follow the NPT rules.
As for Israel having already developed nuclear WEAPONS and refusing to join the NPT and allow inspections, despite a UNSC resolution urging it to join, this is not propaganda. And Israel certainly can be regarded as a terrorist state... seriously.

[my understanding] -- this says it all.
[And Israel certainly can be regarded as a terrorist state... seriously.] -- Israel is a bit more mature than it's neighbors. Everything it has done since 1946 has been in it's own defense due to hostile neighbors that don't have the fortitude to win against them then cry afterwards about losing land to them. These countries should grow up and recognize the fact that constantly attacking of this new country that they will not gain any concessions. Iran even being farther away is one of these idiot neighbors.

So this is probably just a simple misunderstanding. The IAEA has said on numerous occasions that Iran is not fully cooperating, which is the driving force behind the sanctions. The head of the the IAEA has even says he believes Iran's ultimate goal is nuclear weapons. I'm assuming this is the first you've heard of this.
There ya go. Run to Israel. It was only a matter of time. Hold on with both hands and weather the storm....

Helter_Skelter this debate has been going on for years. I'm entitled to change my mind on some items. I still see no problem with nuclear power plants. I'm having problems with processing bomb grade material. I still see no reason for anyone to have nuclear weapons. I don't care for it, but if nuclear material needs to be processed to greater than power plants grade, I'd rather see Russia process it. But I'd rather not see nuclear material moved all over the world.
There's a lot of angles to these issues. Most of the debate while bush was president was Iran not have any nuclear capacity, including nuclear power plants.
So Helter_Skelter, through time I may change my mind and on some issues I may not. I hope I've explained myself. Given time and circumstances I may change or alter my opinion on any issue. < :-)
