This does not have jack to do with football except that it happened in a football stadium. This is more like the Egyptian version of Bloody Sunday, 1920.

I agree with King, I really doubt that this much violence is only about soccer, oops! Football?? For those speaking UKian English??

It's only a game, no one should ever die!

It seems that soccer, as with religion, inevitably creates hate when taken to a fanatical level.

"This tragedy is the result of negligence and the lack of army and police"
No, this tragedy is the result of the actions of vicious fools.

Why is it that soccer seems to attract the violent streak among it's supporters? One soccer-crazy friend I know in England claims it's "because us football fans are so passionate". I don't call this passion - I call this hatred and the worst of humanity. Every other sports event I've been to, I can happily share a beer and a yarn with the rival fans sitting next to me. Sure - there will be banter and sledging - but I have never witnessed any violence. Aggression and brawling should be kept ON the sports field - not in the stands!

I'd say it had nothing to do with football fans. And everything to do with people wanting to 'kick off'. I'm a passionate football fan. Can't think of anything more stupid than fighting over it because someone supports another team. There are plenty of words to describe people who fight at football matches. None of the mare 'fans'.

Football supporters, what do you expect from people who follow the dumbest game in the world.

It is sad to see this happen, a lot of violence can break out in sports, it has and always does happen.. but in this case there might be some political rivalry that occurred after the game which they took advantage of the sporting event itself.

This could occur in any major European city so what is the big deal.
