When will this fighting stop? This is terrible... This sort of thing should not be happening...

Quote: "Only the international community can help, and first and foremost the Security Council,” Brahimi told the council.

    How exactly?

Yes it is terrible, but this is the nature of war. "Something that should never ever under any circumstances be repeated", as the saying of every following generation goes.

"...epitomized by the nearly 80 young men killed with a single bullet."

That probably should have been, "epitomized by the nearly 80 young men killed with single bulletS."

Otherwise some kind of mega pewerful elephant rifle and everyone was standing in a straight line.

I guess we should be thankful that West hasn't intervened. And shows that it is not only Western presence in Iraq and Afghanistan that is causing the mayhem. I often think it is time the Middle East was left to its own devices - despite all this waste of life ongoing mediaeval hatred.

A bad situation. They commit war crimes so terrible that we'd be morally required to prosecute everyone responsible, hence they will never step down because they know what would be waiting for them (life in prison if caught in Europe, the hangman's noose if caught anywhere else). So they commit more crimes...

This is bad, but Syria has no oil, or very little oil, so low on the priority list of any major Western powers, and as long as they are still only killing themselves, Exxon, Shell etc..will not care to force the USA, etc...into that mess in Syria.

If only all the oil we consume wasn't buried under the Middle East.

Not all the oil we consume is from the Middle East but, yes too much of it comes from that part of the world, but not Syria, but yes Iran, which me thinks likes to support Assad, so once Assad is out, Iran better watch out! Imagine how many pissed off Syrians there must be and ready for?? Yes! Revenge against the supporters of their dictator Assad, so China, Russia, Iran etc...have just been sowing seeds of HATRED against there own governments, IMHO
