No worries, the Russians and the Chinese will politely ask Baby Assad to exercise restraint.

CNN had a heartbreaking radio interview with and activist named Zaidoun, superimposed over video of the protests. The courage of the Syrian people in the face of extreme danger and hardship is truly impressive. Worth a listen.

All these countries that lose these dictators end up worse with Sharia law, hairy covered women, men with dirty feet, bad breath and in need of a shower.

Why would the west like to see the rise of 'muslim brotherhood' stretching from Tunisia. Libya,Egypt and syria? I just dont 'GET IT"!? That doesnt make sense....sooner later those angry egyptians will rolling their M1 Abram tanks at anu western embassies in Cairo like the Persian did in 1979......

Very sad- I have been to Homs and met some wonderful people there. Actually ordinary Syrians are hands-down the friendliest, most hospitable people I have ever met and they deserve a much better government than they have.

Democracy is not necessarily the most appropriate form of government in some countries. For the reasons stated by colleagues before my post. On the other hand, in some other countries already controlled by radical religious elements, where the population is ready for change, then bring it on.

Here in the west, freedom and democracy are two of our most cherished principles, even if it doesn't always appear that way. For the nations that have freed themselves during the Arab Spring, we can hope only that the people will get the government they choose. Even if it's not a government that's friendly to the west. To want anything else for those people would be hypocrisy.
