"No way to prevent this," says only nation where this regularly happens.

More sacrifices to the gun Gods.

No sympathy for the victims or children here, just agenda driven comments.

If we didn't care about the victims, we wouldn't care about the guns.

It's those who think that gun ownership by the public should be legal that don't care about the victims.

Thank goodness nobody ever writes with an agenda about gun crime in, say, Chicago. But when this happens in a podunk town called Peebles down Kentucky way, then we need to change to a mournful tone. I am looking forward to see MarkG tell us if geography and demographics mean different standards. Doubt he will though.

"No sympathy for the victims or children here, just agenda driven comments."

Maybe there is a sense that it's so commonplace, it's becoming harder to muster sympathy.

Imagine what could happen. A people completely desensitized to people being killed by guns. An NRA wet dream.

Even if guns were outlawed before this happened wouldn't have stopped this because it sounds like a hit, do you people really think gun laws will stop people from obtaining a gun nope because there are more guns sold on the black market than there are legally. Once again though 3 different homes hit sounds like a pro, also before you say might be a family member with mental issues why are the children alive.

@zengohan, what percent of guns and ammunition started out black market? Close to zero. So squeeze off the legal market to reduce the supply reaching the black market. It's not like criminals are brewing their own Glocks in the bathtub.

Once again this logical fallacy is trotted out. As Torafusu has said, you do realize that black market guns come from the legal market first right?

And we fully accept the opiate addictions and overdoses. Guns themselves when misused can cause harm or worse. When used correctly they are perfectly safe. Heroine is never safe.

What type of person executes people? And if that person has no gun he or she is perfectly fine? Fire and carbon monoxide both could have made matters worse snatching the lives of the young children also. A twisted mind needs to be identified otherwise they will kill one way or another.

Drugs are irrelevant to this topic.

And if guns are illegal, then the murderous may still murder, but they won't be able to do it with guns.

Guns used correctly are perfectly safe? For who? The ONLY correctly intended use of guns is to kill. Not to maim or injure... KILL. I've never heard anything more ridiculous in my life.

It's not like criminals are brewing their own Glocks in the bathtub.

Homemade guns are actually being used more and more, adding to this existing technology already allows people to 3d print firearms in their home. It will become increasingly easier as time goes on. Even Japanese police are worried about crime syndicates that have no weapons on hand, they just need the right equipment and the ability to melt it down afterwards.

Man up, already. No-one needs a steel phallus.

@Lizz, single use guns made out of recycled PET bottle plastic in Joe Sixpack's garage are going to replace the major gun brands? That will be the same year that airborne pigs bring me to the shopping mall.

Shooting is an Olympic sport. In 2012 108 countries fielded teams. No killing involved, not even a little maiming or injuring. It's not easy to compete at that level, it takes years of hard training, it requires the participant to achieve a degree of focused concentration that is pure Zen in nature. Ask any Olympic shooter if:

The ONLY correctly intended use of guns is to kill. Not to maim or injure... KILL.

And I'm certain their response would be

I've never heard anything more ridiculous in my life.

Man up, already. No-one needs a steel phallus.

What's with the phallus fixation? A lot of women shoot, in fact some of the best shooters in the world are women. Shooting is a sport where the is no gender advantage and women can, and do, compete at the highest levels. Are all those female athletes suffering from penis envy? Or is this whole steel phallus thing just a little bit of projection?
