I have no idea as to what to think about this, 80 Indians getting killed at a Hindu temple, does their government really care? Is this just an excuse to somehow try to control their over population? I guess when the Kama Sutra was invented, condoms where still yet invented? Is there a special "god" for safe-sex?

Whatever other people say, may their soul rest in peace.

Although this might sound cold and insensitive - there's a reason that in many nations we have building/venue inspections and codes that allow for maximum occupancy. This is tragic, but the fact that it happens year after year during these pilgrimages and festivals just makes it rather stupid.

Didn't this happen last year and it was the same rumor that caused the stampede.
We all know that there should be better security and crowd control, but when you combine religion, fear and panic, people just react, and people get hurt.
It's a shame. < :-)

More people getting killed by stampedes in India. Guess in india these kind stampedes can happen, because at religious fests people just love to crowd themselves up tighly and there is can stampedes when crowd panic via false bomb scare rumuors or other such panic causing things.

Two weeks ago this happened because of FREE FOOD (I think they tore a building down during that one). Now a bomb scare (or did someone yell FREE FOOD again?).
Bottom line is if you are in India and you see a really big crowd..RUN!!!
