9 killed in suicide attack in Afghanistan

KABUL —

At least nine people were killed and more than a dozen wounded in a suicide attack Monday outside a U.S. military base in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Khost, the province’s governor said.The attacker detonated an explosives-packed vehicle just outside the gates of the U.S. base, Khost Gov. Arsallah Jamal said. He said the victims were all construction workers working at the base.

Thirteen people were wounded, the governor said, adding that U.S. soldiers did not suffer any casualties

Afghan construction workers not needed at US army base, by afghan former govt rebels.

US must concentrate on Afghan peace process, leave Iraq as Obama/adaydream says.

Ummmm... Raj, It was 'outside' the base. not like they were working for the US gov't. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The USA forces are in the "wrong place at the wrong time" causing all these civilians to get killed, bushlover. And for what? Look to the Opium fields and see US soldiers just blithely waking about in search for the "bad guys" ... Jeebus, what a waste!

Folks, we need to get the troops back into Afghanistan where the real war on terror is. We've wasted lives, money and time in Iraq. We've pulled troops out of Afghanistan and put those numbers in Iraq. This country has not supported their troops properly.

Get the troops out of Iraq and into Afghanistan. < :-)
