A classic case of individualistic over riding the public interest and social concern. Duncan should at least detect the possibility of Ebola's problem and even mentioned this possibility to the first admitted hospital about Ebola . Now many more cases of Ebola are found in U.S., and soon will be many parts of the world including Asia. Watch out.

Source? As far as I know, Duncan is the only confirmed case to develop in the US so far.

Sounds like he was chancing it. Selfish doesn't come close. Throw the book at him and make an example for all to see and understand. This kind of behavior threatens the lives of millions.

What's scary is, the people that he came in contact with came around other people and so on and so on. Do I think people should panic, not really, but there is the potential that this can spread very, very fast can get out of control globally if not held in check and this guy was beyond selfish. He's got a warrant in his native country for lying and should also be prosecuted equally in the states as well.

Not a real danger. This guy was selfish and reckless. Most other who would suspect exposure would take precautions. It's not easily spread in industrialized nations.

It is quite easily understood that any person in West Africa that knows they were exposed to Ebola would desperately want to travel to any Western country that would accept them in order to receive the medical care to preserve their lives. Current screening practices rely on truthful answers from the traveler and an inadequate temperature check. The US government's response thus far has been woeful at best.

Proof?... The RUTERS news service reports in it's Financial page, the major boost this introduction has given STOCKS in this sector.

That is not proof of a conspiracy by a greedy pharmaceutical company. It is a rational response by investors in a financial sector that could see it's products become in demand due to this health scare.

CDC Keeps Passengers On Plane At Newark Airport After Man Shows Ebola-Like Symptoms

We need to change International Travel screening up to date, so that we can eliminate possible Ebola outbreak. This is very critical. It needs to be implemented immediately.

If Duncan traveled to the US specifically for treatment, you would think when the medical teams didn't connect the dots or were not alerted to his travel history he would have been more forthcoming with all relevant background info that would increase the odds of survival ....Of course he could have come to get married for all we know, despite the likelihood of prosecution at both ends. Really hope the situation works out for this woman and her kids.

Likely Duncan didn't know he had it. The pregnant lady was thought to have died from complications of pregnancy, not Ebola.

It doesn't do Duncan any good to NOT tell authorities he may have Ebola once he's already in the US. All the dead bodies around him in Liberia would tell him to get treatment ASAP.

In any case, it is extraordinarily unlikely that there would be a major outbreak in countries like the US which takes sanitation and health care so seriously and place that have the resources to contain it. Particularly among populations that could afford to pay big pharma prices (for vaccines or drugs that haven't even been approved for use yet AFAIK).
