    He will be remembered for having his great delivery, his "rich Corinthian leather" for the Cordoba ads, his "I am Mr. Roarke, your host. Welcome to Fantasy Island." and "Buried alive! Buried alive!" from the second Star Trek movie. That this Mexican American actor could play an Indian Sikh says something about Hollywood during that era. But he broke barriers for minority actors everywhere. Montalban was also a fairly buffed out dude.

    Aww, man. Now this really sucks. I liked this guy. Down on the New Mexican Interstate, the local area and tourist infomation bulletins on AM radio were done by Montalban. You could listen to that voice over the endless miles of empty desert and never get bored. How can you beat being lured to the sights and sounds of the Great Southwest by none other than Khan Noonien Singh?

    You did well with your life, Mr. Montalban. Rest in Peace.

    My mother died a couple of years ago and she loved the Hollywood greats. In her latter years her major source of upset was seeing all her heroes and heroines dying off one by one.

    Seems like the same thing is happening to me - another sad loss in the acting world.

    I'll always remember him as Khan,;

    "To the last, I will grapple with thee... from Hell's heart, I stab at thee! For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee!"

    Yeah, it's sad that the TV personalities from the 60s and 70s are dying off one by one recently. Patrick McGoohan from "The Prisoner" also died today. And of course Majel Barrett of Star Trek fame passed away recently. Oh well, they will live on forever in re-runs and DVDs.

    Wow! I had no idea The Prisoner was McGoohan's own idea. No wonder he fit that character so well.

    The pilot of Fantasy Island was the best. From that time on I was hooked for years. Ricardo Montalban was smooth. < :-)

    Patrick McGoohan also had a memorable role as the heavy in the 1970s comedy cult classic "Silver Streak" with Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder. He had an air of gravitas about him which played off nicely against the zaniness of Wilder and Pryor.

    A double tragedy.

    Patrick McGoohan in Braveheart, I alway remember the scene where he tosses his son's "friend" out the window of the castle. Pure menace at its best.

    The Island.

    Fantasy Island.

    I'd love to make a pastiche of clips from both. I think it would be amusing.

    McGoohan reportedly turned down the role of James Bond because he was tired of gratuitous fisticuffs and nonsensical romantic couplings. I can understand the fisticuff reservation, anyway.

    Wow Ricardo Montalban was 88? I guess since he was already in his 60s when he played Khan in Star Trek 2 (he was awsome if you haven't seen it) You will be missed RIP

    These two great actors each deserve an article of their own. Who can forget Montalbans reaction when he learns that Kirk is now an Admiral? RIP to both.
