Winning the hearts and minds of the Afghan people since 2001 (or 1977...). Why, after Carter lured the USSR into engagement in Afghanistan (by supporting the mujahaddin, who overthrew NAjibullah and later became the Taliban) did the US follow down the same road for 15 years?

Isn´t it interesting that the US and international media were in a frenzy just yesterday, blaming Russia for the same thing? And just wait til Israel the next time responds to Hamas rocket terrorist who routinely hide out in hospitals... then you can really see the proverbial hype hit the fan. Double and triple standards, anyone?
