Wow. Just, wow. An astronomical bombshell. I do wonder how those crowing about how Afghanistan was liberated and how things are so well there are going to spin this one.
90 civilians. 60 children. Just, wow. Or are people going to solely blame this major SNAFU on "false tip?" Before people out there brush this casually off by blaming the Taliban, blaming the insurgent, or blaming tribal rivalries, please do consider that 90 civilians, 60 children, were brutally killed by a bomb. Think about their pain and suffering for once.
That this was done with the use of Special Ops soldiers I find incredibly disheartening. These guys are the cream of the crop, how can this happen? Won't people learn that bombing campaigns do nothing but make more terrorists and insurgents?

This report is lies, damn lies.
This is an example of a government publishing fake bad news stories to try to increase financial aid to their countries. This aid will no doubt fall into the pockets of the leaders. It is all a sham, a con trick.
People, do not believe this charade, tke the claims witha pinch of salt, for they are falsehoods.

Intelligence Failure is part of U.S. military actions, but killings of kids is not justified if we are really living in 21st century.

I guess our invasion has resulted in tribalism finally taking hold in Afghanistan also.
{sigh}

Tribalism as you call it has always been in hold in Afghanistan, it was the three times Britian tried, the 10 years the Russians tried and still is today when the UN tries.
The fact they killed innocents is a look into how horrid war is, it shouldnt happen but it does in every war or police action any country does. I wish we could find a way to fight a war and not kill those who have nothing to do with it, but as long as we have war (which we always will cause its human nature) we will have innocents getting killed.
Moderateguy2008. It happens and as they dig into the area they will find more dead just like they always do, You make Americans look so dumb when you say things like that we made a misjudgment and it ended bad, its our fault period.. one innocent or 90 it doesnt matter its still our responsibility...

moderateguy2008 - "The numbers of "dead" increase daily,"
They usually do in cases like this.
"This report is lies, damn lies."
Can you provide any solid proof to back up this claim?

Problem is we keep killing more and more civilians, many women and children, over and over again based on bad information.
This ain't good for relations folks.
Remember this is one of the major reasons that the Iraqis turned against the the US. Killing innocent people is bad for business. It gets innocent military killed. < :-)

moderateguy2008: It's only either the stupid US soldiers wrongly conducted to kill innocent people AGAIN or the smart US soldiers use this sort of execuse AGAIN. nothing else...... or they don't even respect human life?

On one side, the technologically advanced kuffar side, who believes they can create a modern democray in a Sharia state like Afghanistan by throwing money at it and fighting against the "misunderstanders" of islam -- while not having a clue of what islam actually teaches. On the other side, the followers of Mohammed who only need to tell a lie to the stupid kuffars, get the stupid kuffars to kill a bunch of people (who go to paradise), and then get all the kuffar press on their side. Guess who wins this.

Soldiers dont decide where to attack, and since you dont understand that your comments therefore not valid nor proper in this discussion.. You want to get mad at someone please feel free to contact the higher ups that select the target, and give the order for the strike...
If you ever served in the Military you would understand the chain of command and wouldnt have to make statements like you did..
And dont take the veiws of Moderateguy who is with out a doubt just on here to make waves and isnt a real voice to listen too as anything a normal American would say

Sad, so sad. The dilemma that U.S. forces are facing is all due to Bush's failure as a Commander in Chief. There are not enough forces in Afghanistan in place, so they resort to bombing tactics, which are safer (for U.S. forces) and require fewer ground troops, but leave open the huge possiblity of civilian casualties. It is too bad that more of the forces in Iraq couldn't be shifted to Afghanistan.
This news comes after I saw a special report last night on NHK about the growing number of vets returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan, who suffer from PTSD and many of whom have taken to booze and in extreme cases murder. One guy that was interviewed (who was wearing a dress at the time), even mentioned how the army never prepared them for what it was really like in Iraq. This is also a good website which lists all of the murders that have taken place by veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2008/01/12/us/20080113VETSDATABASE.html
Of course, not all murders may have been caused by PTSD, but it is telling that they only list cases of murder (121 in all) and no mention of the many more who are suffering from PTSD, yet have not committed murder, yet.

Nippon5:
"Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary: 『soldier: One who is engaged in military service as an officer or a private; one who serves in an army; one of an organized body of combatants.』" my definition of soldier includes high rank officers in the army.

feakashow:
No. the dilemma that the US forces AND the Canadian forces AND the British forces AND the German forces and all the other kuffar forces who are on this misguided mission face is that they are sent there on a premise that is politically correct but tragically wrong. Namely, that islamism is caused by poverty (instead of the other way around), and that it is possible to build a prosperous democratic country with a Sharia constitution.
And so, they go on chasing the impossible dream. Singling out the Americans is silly. They are only the strongest of the fools.

America does not kill innocents. That is our main policy when fihjting a war.
The Afghans have a hidden agenda, don`t beleive everything you read guys.

We do kill civilians. Anybody who says we don't are blind, deaf and just refuse to accept reality. < :-)

So does everybody in war. The NATO troops in Afghanistan, however, are fighting a war against an enemy who have no qualms hiding behind civillians.

The thing to remember, the US acted on what they belived valid information that came from an Afghani. I could see the uproar if we had just bombed the area for the hell of it. But once again, someone that is supposed to be on our side gave false information. Yes the US should have verified and checked to see, and I know that in war you can't all ways get the 100% verification. But I think the international outrage should be with the person who gave the false tip. There is where the real culprit lies. Reminds me of a story a few years back when one opium grower wanted to eliminate another, and the best way was to tell the US forces that the other was a Taliban. So sad.

After as many innocents that have died from false information, you can't believe that info any longer. But it appears that the US is just sluffing off the last killing incident and going on to the next. < :-)

I fully support the military and our troops; but WMDLocated2004 you are misguided. When forces go into a village and start shooting, civilians are going to die. In some instances the casualties may be exaggerated by the Afghanis, in others under-estimated by our military. But it's naive, well okay lunacy, to believe no innocents are getting killed. Frankly I think that if true figures of the numbers of civilians killed in both Iraq and Afghanistan would be released (and we tend to get one side's bent) that it would be quite shocking. It's a product of war as has been stated by several. People get this false impression of an old war movie where it's just the good and bad guys crawling around shooting each other in a long-deserted town or city. The civilian toll in the Second World War is estimated at around 47 million people. Naturally this war is in a much smaller theater, and the ordnance we make is leaps ahead in precision, but it still happens, and likely fairly often. I'm not blaming the troops, our military or our government - just stating fact.

Tit For Tat....
You should of said the stupid humans then you would be even more generalizing then the stupid soldiers.. But hey you must never of served in the military therefore you dont understand the difference of the chain of command, and the fact the site was given to them from a Afghan source which isnt a military personel.
Still as a member of the UN team in Afghanastan we have to check all information as best as we can, civilian loss is something as American military we actually try not to have (unlike the people we are fighting right now, but hey why judge both sides equally)..To date the extremist have killed more Afgahns then the UN team including the US, so maybe we should feel outrage about that...

Nippon5: I really don't understand why it is so hard just to say "sorry..." for the US when he happened to do something wrong? everybody makes mistakes all over the world! the problem is not the mistake you made but the manner you face your mistakes. it's not good to say something like 'my behavior of killing 5 persons is better than someone who killed 10 ...'.

It
s sad, inhumane, and sick but... Its war and that`s what happens. This stuff is happening in many countries not just Afghanistan.0

I feel sorry about those victims of the accident and I’m willing to express my respects to those US soldiers who always abide by the law and never kill innocent people and never bully POWs. However, for those who committed this crime, only “stupid” is far from enough !
