WHAT A MESS!! How in the hell is it possible that with FREE GOOGLE EARTH we can see our cities, streets, our houses, heck I even found my wife riding on her bicycle!!! But NASA, NSA, the CIA etc.. does NOT KNOW WHERE THIS JET PLANE is???? Sorry, this all wreaks of BS to me! Some kind of cover up!! I do hope the passengers are SAFE but flying over the sea is NOT SAFE and running out of fuel, or having other accidents, or terrorism, anyway I do not think this is going to have a HAPPY ENDING.

You love your conspiracy theories don't you? Even now, as good as google earth may be, there is a lag in the images.

This is correct. The images on Google Earth and Google Maps are between one and three years old.

This disappearance has way to many bizarre twists in the events leading to the disappearance. I smell something suspicious from in air as well as on the ground.

Japan should offer to help! Some of these countries have gone to extraordinary length to participate. Vietnam, e.g., has permitted the Chinese planes to overfly its territorial air space and navy ships to traverse its territorial waters. That's really something. US, Australia, Taiwan are all in there, planes, ships, satellites. India will now participate too.

Where is Japan, the country self-aspiring to play a leader ship role in the Asian countries? Or is that aspiration only applied in the coalition against China?

@rsgz4gg7y2

FYI Japan already sent four MPAs to scour the waters even though it has nothing to do with it and far from the immidiate region.

Japan already sent aid and also thanked by China for it. All reported here on JT.

Yep, MarkG, mighty weird. One report notes:

Two U.S. officials tell ABC News the U.S. believes that the shutdown of two communication systems happened separately on Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. One source said this indicates the plane did not come out of the sky because of a catastrophic failure. The data reporting system, they believe, was shut down at 1:07 a.m. The transponder -- which transmits location and altitude -- shut down at 1:21 a.m.

Pardon for the speculation, but a cockpit invasion might first involve orders to shut down communication, then a struggle to secure the location, then confirmation that all communication systems are in fact shut down. The time frame noted here - about 14 minutes - would fit with that scenario.

Malaysian authorities believe they have several "pings" of engine data from the airliner's service data system, known as ACARS, transmitted to satellites in the four to five hours after the last transponder signal, suggesting the plane is believed to have flown to the Indian Ocean, a senior U.S. official told CNN.

I believe it is impossible to manually deactivate ACARS; in fact, supposed perpetrators might not have even known it exists.

Occam's Razor might suggest that the reason the plane has not been found is that it has been hidden.

The plane is on some abandoned runway in rural Cambodia or inland Vietnam, getting loaded with a made-in-North-Korea nuke and headed for the US mainland. NK didn't have a viable delivery system for its nuke program as witnessed by the failed rocket launches and phony satellite programs - now they have a fully functioning missile in disguise.

Authorities have not ruled out any possible cause for the plane’s disappearance, including mechanical failure, pilot error, sabotage or terrorism in the disappearance of the plane. The 777 is a modern aircraft with an excellent safety record, as does Malaysia Airlines.

In June 2013, Boeing issued a safety alert to Boeing 777 operators, telling them to inspect for corrosion and cracks in the crown fuselage around a satellite antenna. The alert says one airline found a 16-inch crack in one plane, then checked other 777s and found more cracking.

"Cracks in the fuselage skin that are not found and repaired can propagate to the point where the fuselage skin structure cannot sustain limit load," Boeing said. "When the fuselage skin cannot sustain limit load, this can result in possible rapid decompression and loss of structural integrity."

As reported by CBS and FOX, this is the other in worst case possible scenario.

@laguna

Are you a pilot or an Aviation enthusiast? Just wondering.

Hi, Bass! Glad to hear you weren't affected by the earthquake this morning; I didn't even feel it here in Kumamoto! Must be getting old.

I'm an aviation buff, and this case is driving me nuts. Really, all signs point to a hijacking - or, more precisely, an aircraft theft, possibly by one of the pilots. Remember the loss of EgyptAir Flight 990, which was deemed to have been caused by one of the pilots. Certainly, it's all but speculation at this point, and that's what's driving me crazy: Even the experts can only speculate.

Thanks for asking. It was a bit scary, but everyone is Ok. Surprised you didn't feel anything, but you're ok, that's good.

You and me both, this case is so bizarre and I just don't know what to think at this point. This entire story just sounds like something out of aTom Clancy novel. And "Yes", I do remember EgyptAir #990 in fact, I was coving the case at the time when I was still at NBC. If it were a possible hijacker, then that would indicate that these terrorists have completely evolved into a serious and alarmingly scary force to be reckoned with. It would defy all imagination of reality. But no doubt, this is extremely frustrating.

I notice one thing that : amid chaos, confusions ,worries...about missing plane and people ...China wants to establish kind of command center in the Spratly islands ( right in Vietnam territory) for future use ! Why so fast so soon? Is it first priority must be finding out who, what, when, how ?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Look at the pilot he is the one in control, if there was any kind of me hanical problems he could have and should have communicated them. I suspect a lone wolf one pilot over takes the other in the cockpit the doors are locked so no one can interfere that as a 911 rule. This is a pilot mercy killing of innocent people:

This whole thing that smells to the core, with all the advanced technology out there, the Chinese can't pinpoint and get a HD clearer photo of the debris in the water, and the US which has THE most advanced spying technology out there and with everything combined, nothing. This is where the NSA could really come in handy! But still we get from everyone involved one giant question mark! I really believe everyone is doing the best that they can and I don't want to speculate, but in all honesty, these spy angencies can or at least supposedly are able to see everything, so why NO answers? I'm so perplexed, can't even begin to imagine what the families are going through. This is just killing them, not to mention, the longer it takes, the more difficult it will be to finding anything of the plane.

For almost a week I have been posting on jt's random coverage that there is the technology to locate commercial airliners in flight anywhere they fly and as the news trickles in each day it sure looks like the information overlords already know but are not revealing their information because it will jeopardize their operations.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

A British communications company reported that they had received a signal from the aircraft 5 hours after the last call from the pilot. So that and the US info have me thinking that the aeroplane had landed somewhere. Though that could be wishful thinking on my part.

T-bird2...Wishful thinking. More and more it is looking like that may be the reality. Chinese reports were that passenger private cell phones were still active days after the disappearance.

Foul play? Yes. Terrorists? Not in the conventional methods. Accidental crash? Possibly, but more and more less likely. Stolen plane? Actually could be! And I hope so. The passengers could all be safe. Hijacked and eventually crashed in the Indian Ocean? Possible.

No solid answers have been given by the authorities even days after the flight mysteriously vanished. Finding Malaysian Airlines is now taking so long I suspect it's any time now for the alien abduction theories to start.
