In Dallas, ten officers were. shot and three dead.

So very many things wrong with this. In the case of Castile, he was pulled over for a (supposedly) non-functioning tail light. Right - I'm white and have never been pulled over for non-functioning anything - very likely racial bias. Castile immediately informs the officer that he has a gun in line with his concealed carry permit, which likely put the officer on edge - so when Castile acts to retrieve his ID as ordered by the officer, he is shot dead. Racism, pure and simple. This would never have happened to a white person.

The gun part is interesting, though. Conservatives adhere to the idea that good guys with guns save lives (despite ample evidence that this is not so). Apparently, Castile, his fiance and their families had had a conversation recently during which they discussed the wisdom of black people carrying guns given the penchant of police to shoot first and confirm later. Too bad Castile did not abandon his weapon then - he might still be alive.

Guns are dangerous for all involved, but particularly for non-whites. Perhaps the NRA and the GOP should alter their message to "a good guy with a gun - as long as it's a white guy."

3 snipers triangulating fire with each other in a well planned ambush style attack.

Curious as to whether any of them are former vets with military experience.

This is just insane.

Wow. Photo shows a suspect waltzing down the street with what looks like an assault rifle - but then, Texas is an open-carry state.Just think if it hadn't been; somebody might have thought to question why a person would be waltzing down the street with an assault rifle. Stupid. America's gun-loving society gets what it deserves as a whole; the individuals killed or maimed and their survivors deserve pity.

The problem is not really bias. Even if Blacks were shot by police at the same rate as Whites, there are still FAR too many unjustified shootings carried out by police. The real problem is that the police are entitled and protected. They literally get away with murder. They are basically authorized to shoot any time they feel threatened, and they are backed up by people who say they "have a difficult and stressful job". They simply are not held accountable. And the American police force is filled with people who are not adequately trained and not possessing of enough grey matter for any amount of training to make them adequate police officers. And they have their blue wall of silence. And they have their well-rehearsed words and acts of deniability. They will tell you not to move as they taze you, and accuse you of failing to obey orders (Alton Sterling and others). They will demand you produce ID or remove hands from pockets, then shoot you for possibly reaching for or about to withdraw a weapon (Philando Castile and others). They will drive up on you at high speed, jump out of the patrol car a couple feet from you, then gun you down because THEY felt threatened by your reaction and YOUR proximity (Tamir Rice). They will throw flash bangs into your house and expect you to know exactly what is happening and not resist. But if you do they will start shooting blindly and kill innocent children (Aiyana Jones). Half a dozen will lay on you while one chokes the life out of you, and all for standing there and daring to question their harassment of you (Eric Gardner). And they will likely not even be indicted. And if they are, they will mostly likely receive a "not guilty" verdict. American police are a law unto themselves. In America, I was never afraid or concerned that there might be a terrorist attack. I was too busy fearing the police and my nutty armed neighbors.

Blue Lives Matter too. As the BLM marched in Dallas TX, they chanted "Hands up, Don't Shoot" only to run ducking for cover from one of their own who decided to "shoot". Ironic eh?

A sniper killed 4 police officers at that rally. 7 other officers were wounded. Stay classy BLM. But woe, don't mess with Texas.

In Louisiana, 37-year-old Alton Sterling was fatally shot Tuesday as he tussled with two white officers outside a convenience store in a predominantly black neighborhood.

Black Lives Matter, oh, I see. . . Armed in a predominantly black neighborhood. Hmmm. Why did he "arm" himself, he was a convicted felon.

Why was he slanging bootleg DVD's or CD's. That's a crime, FBI warning printed on every legit copyrighted disk. Why did he threaten another person? Which was why the police were dispatched there in the 1st place.

Now they're going to say the police planted a gun on him at the scene. Ridiculous.

@Laguna. I have been pulled over for non functioning tail lights so it does happen and I'm white I believe it just depends on the area you live in

Blue Lives Matter too.

Too many of their number displaying a fragrant disregard for the lives they are supposed to be protecting have made that statement untrue in the eyes of many citizens. The breaking point may finally have been reached, and I am surprised it took this long. Even the innocent and good cops may soon come to regret their own help with regards to the blue wall of silence.

Of course I would only want the bad cops to be targeted. But, the citizenry has no effective way of doing that. Even so, it now seems the citizenry has to do the job the police and justice system were SUPPOSED to do, however sloppily they have to do it. And if the police and justice system don't like summary executions, they really should have started condemning them unconditionally decades ago.

Once again, the anointed one has to throw in the race card. You are right, Blue Lives Matter as well and these thugs that committed these heinous atrocities are the absolute worst that society has to offer, but the same goes with the senseless shootings of the two men the other day as well. One wrong doesn't make another right.

they really should have started condemning them unconditionally decades ago.

You mean like Rodney King? Who was intoxicated and speeding, evading officers on a public highway present a danger to other innocent motorists. Then when he stopped, he became hostile and defiant, assaulting police officers.

Worse. The liberal media only showing the officers beating him with their PR24's on prime time news.

Then the thugs rioted, destroying their own city & community in LA. All they had to do was wear the shoe.

Same in Ferguson. Black teen assaults the store clerk. Steals some cigars. Then when confronted by officer Wilson, the teen clobbers him while going for the officer's gun. The teen gets dumped right in the middle of the street. . . . How is the officer wrong in that scenario.

Ferguson rioted too. Again, all they really had to do was wear the shoe.

So, both of the men shot had guns on their person, right?

Why?

What do you need to carry a gun around for?

Let me state this unambiguously: The GUN LAWS ARE THE PROBLEM. Why? Because, amongst a whole host of other blindingly obvious reasons, it makes everyone edgy. In Australia, the cops are constantly accused of being racist towards the Aboriginals. But Aboriginals (or anyone else for that matter) don't get shot by police in Australia. Why? Because nobody is walking around with guns. The police aren't afraid for their lives when dealing with the public.

All your guns do is make people nervous, paranoid. It doesn't offer you more security, it just clouds your judgement.

It's so blindingly obvious it's ridiculous.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

What do you need to carry a gun around for?

Exactly. Keep them in your home, private property.

The GUN LAWS ARE THE PROBLEM

So are convicted felons who arm themselves, drug dealers, gangbangers and radical muslims. If guns are the problem, then so is religion, tolerance, pc and assassins on Black Lives Matter payroll.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Exactly. Keep them in your home, private property.

I'd be cool with that. The NRA is definitely not. Are you saying, Wc, that you would support laws restricting guns to homes or, when transported, to be enclosed in a case inaccessible to anyone but the owner? We might have a point of agreement here! But don't tell me the NRA is not a huge part of the problem when their lobbying efforts have enabled idiots to roam the streets with AR-15s strapped to their shoulders.

I saw this on YT the other week it just goes to show how two people are treated, one is a white guy and the other is a black guy. It just goes to show how how raciest cop are and how the over react.

Wc626, you seem to have difficulty understand concepts of the flow of time. Officers were not beating Rodney King as he was speeding down the road evading him. They were beating him as he lay on the ground weaponless. No one questioned their taking him down. No one questioned them trying to pin him on the ground. They simply noted that using batons to beat an unarmed man lying on the ground does not resolve a situation. It just makes him struggle more until he is beaten unconscious or to death. It was excessive force.

Its the same with Ferguson. Time does not seem to have any meaning to you. The minor assault of the store clerk 15 minutes or so previous has no bearing on how to deal with people calmly walking down the street, particularly as the cop at that time was unaware, and was simply telling them to walk on the sidewalk (and why bother?). Assaulting the officer was proper stupid, but even then was not when the officer shot him. Brown fled and hid behind a car. The cop got out of his car and started chasing him, in the end, gunning him down quite a bit after being assaulted, with no evidence I have seen that he was being assaulted a second time.

You see, pretty much nobody complains when a man is shot while assaulting or threatening police. Its when they are helpless, handcuffed, surrendering, already taken down, and/or weaponless and basically harmless yet still get shot, tazed and beaten that people get angry. This is because, unlike you and those like you, the passage of time means something to most people.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

This was always going to happen at some point. Guns everywhere + pure anger = incidents like this

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

If you've ever been around a police officer who has shot someone, there's no high fives. Usually they're at least temporarily an emotional basket case, often for some time thereafter. You think it's racism, and sometimes it is. More often I suspect that the officer has even had minority partners at some point in his career and may even have minority friends. It's really about fear and training. Sometimes the latter controls the former and sometimes on a bad night, not.

Complete and utter rubbish. You are just trying to deflect the blame. Convicted felons, drug dealers, radical muslims, religion, pc, tolerance etc etc all exist in other countries. What is completely indefensible for you, is that regular and mass shootings like this only happen in the US.

If you take away everything that is common to the US and other countries, it leaves you with the guns.

It's just so obvious.

After deadly shootings, Obama says police must root out bias

Where have YOU been Mr. President? Rounding the 17th hole I imagine. Why have you let the police become more and more militarized? It's no secret. We all know many cops are hired straight out of the military. Obama, you are a disgrace! Cops can be pigs or nice guys. Should have started weeding in your first year.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Police are not perfect people. Not justifying mistakes just stating truth. Before they are judged, let's get he facts! We see how Baltimore ended up. Furgeson ended entirely different than the media led you to believe. Travon was different than Eric Holder wanted you to believe.

Accidents happen, when it's a life involved the consequence is severe. When a crime is overted its a win.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Why in the name of anything sane do americans still cling to an archaic constitution? I'm sure many many americans living outside the country do quite well without firearms so I'll ask once more, if you can survive without this barbarism why continue to adhere to centuries old law that's clearly impractical in this time? Why? I'm really curious to understand this massive dissociative behavior.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Hey Fred, hunting is a food subsidy for rural America. And if guns were banned the bad guys like last night would still have them. They make their own laws twisted as they are.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The comments of one of the shooters is very strange. Before he was blown to pieces by a robot bomb, he said he wanted to kill white people and white cops especially. You know how the FBI finds potential terrorists and then set them up? This sounds very similar.
