That's going to be a big struggle being as how it's going to be up to Israel to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons.

As long as he's in office, it will never happen.

I hope President Obama uses this golden opportunity to tell Bibi and the rest of Israel's supporters to go do something that's physically impossible to themselves. For far too long the US has treated Israel as if it had some special significance to us and deserved constant reassurance and billions of our tax revenues. We can do without Israel very well. Let Bibi pout for as long as he wants to. He's of no real concern to anyone but Israelis.

Seeking to sell his nuclear deal with Iran to a skeptical Israeli public, President Barack Obama has repeatedly declared his deep affection for the Jewish state. But the feelings do not appear to be mutual.

Nor genuine on Obama's part.

One recent poll showed less than a tenth considered him “pro-Israel.”

Proving that there are idiots everywhere. Just less of them in Israel, it seems.

An April survey of Jewish Israelis, carried out just after a preliminary nuclear deal with Iran was reached, had an equally harsh view of Obama. Just 9 percent of respondents described the White House as “pro-Israeli,” while 60 percent called it “pro-Palestinian.” More than 60 percent described Obama as the worst president for Israel in the past 30 years, far outdistancing runner-up Jimmy Carter at 16 percent.

A larger percentage of Israelis are paying attention than Americans. Maybe they don't have Kardashian distractions?

Iran's leaders predicted an end to Israel within 25 years. Anybody still defending Obama's recklessly stupid deal want to place bets?

Conflicts in the ME are not helped by rhetoric that polarizes people as 'pro-Israeli' or 'pro-Palestinian'. Understanding that one can be both is a necessary part of negotiated settlements. I do not believe that Obama has 'thrown Israel under the bus'. He has simply not given the Netanyahu government everything it wants.

Israel does have special significance CrazyJoe. Many Americans reside in Israel as Israeli's. Powerful people in USA have that same option. And because of those connections Israel is an ally in the ME and has been coddled with weapons and billions of UDS.

He has simply not given the Netanyahu government everything it wants.

No, but he has given the Iranian government everything they want. And remember when Hamas wanted steel and concrete for building schools and hospitals? Steel and concrete which they used to build tunnels into Israel? Isn't the person whom Obama picked to authorize that deal currently running for president?

"The Haaretz daily on Sunday said talks on providing Israel with additional U.S. weaponry have already quietly begun. Netanyahu’s office declined comment." - article

Time to kiss and make up.

Israel gets what it wants and Iran gets relief on sanctions. Now if either of these troublemakers would like to improve their relationship independently no one is stopping them. But, except for the zealotry of demonization, neither party can see the other any differently than they have been conditioned to perceive. It must be very helpful to have the US pay the piper, hope everyone is pleased.

Well at least Obama has managed to get Israel and Saudi Arabia on somewhat peaceful terms. The Saudis are not for this deal at all, and they are fully aware of what this will do to their ethnic (Iranians are Persians and not Arabs) rivals, so much so they have toned down the anti-Israeli rhetoric. The Saudi ambassador recently came to the USA to speak with Obama to basically let him know they are going to be taking care of themselves more than before. As a result, guess what Arab nation is getting an aircraft carrier (helo assault type), Egypt. Not that they can afford one, but Saudi Arabia is footing the bill for the French made ships that were originally going to Russia. And guess what, not a negative word out of Israel on the deal, since they know that these ships will not be patrolling off the Med, but the Persian Gulf.

A new arms race will build up in the Middle East, and this time, it is not Bush's fault.

The Israelis want nothing less than regime change in Iran with American soldiers doing the dying. Unless they get that, they will never approve.

CrazyJoe: You said it perfectly! If Israel is so utterly against the US and constantly undermines them, let Israel go and fend for themselves, I say. One of these two nations can easily live without the other. The other will easily die if the other cut off support. So, perhaps Bibi needs a lesson in order to stop biting the hand that feeds and keeps him alive.

Cut them off. Show them what the difference between a perceived lack of support and a true lack of support is, then let them come back begging and promising they will no longer doubt or undermine their benefactors.

I do not believe that Obama has 'thrown Israel under the bus'. He has simply not given the Netanyahu government everything it wants.

No, he threw the entire country under the bus. 70% of Israelis don't trust Obama and who could blame them?

Israel gets what it wants and Iran gets relief on sanctions.

Besides a future Nuclear Iran that wants to wipe it from the map, what else?

Now if either of these troublemakers would like to improve their relationship independently no one is stopping them.

Iran would never want peace with Israel, now what? And besides, how do you make peace with someone that wants to eradicate you from the planet?

But, except for the zealotry of demonization, neither party can see the other any differently than they have been conditioned to perceive. It must be very helpful to have the US pay the piper, hope everyone is pleased.

The Mullahs, they get to have a bomb, that guy in the White House and Lurch get their mug shots in TIME magazine, that pretty much sums it all up.

The Israelis want nothing less than regime change in Iran with American soldiers doing the dying. Unless they get that, they will never approve.

Of course, they do and you would as well if you knew a country is waiting for its chance to destroy you, made it a mission no matter how long it takes. Don't blame them one bit!

You said it perfectly! If Israel is so utterly against the US and constantly undermines them, let Israel go and fend for themselves, I say.

Hey, they will and it won't be to the liberals liking and I hope they do whatever they have to do to protect themselves.

One of these two nations can easily live without the other. The other will easily die if the other cut off support. So, perhaps Bibi needs a lesson in order to stop biting the hand that feeds and keeps him alive.

Doubt that'll happen. The Iranians aren't that good.

Cut them off.

Never will happen.

Show them what the difference between a perceived lack of support and a true lack of support is, then let them come back begging and promising they will no longer doubt or undermine their benefactors.

Yeah, in an alternate universe perhaps.

This is all wrong: The US is the top dog, and Israel is our b*&ch.

Obama don't need to do jack sh*t. It is Israel who needs to get on Obama's side.

Obama need not try to repair relations with the Israeli right. They can go to hell, for all I care.

The Israeli left, on the other hand, should try to repair relations with Obama.

We are the top dog, not Israel. They should come to us for scraps.

Obama need not try to repair relations with the Israeli right. They can go to hell, for all I care.

They feel the same about Obama and they're not going to rile themselves further with this charlatan, he has just 420 days left, ride it out and wait.

The Israeli left, on the other hand, should try to repair relations with Obama.

But thankfully, they're not the majority.

We are the top dog, not Israel. They should come to us for scraps.

We're not the top dog in the region and Israel has ever right to exist with or without the US approval. They can and should do whatever they need to do to survive.
