somebody should have thrown a shoe at him! as far as i know, islam does not condone the violence against its people so i don't see how iran can continue to call itself an islamic republic when it does not follow the dictates of islam, call a spade a spade, its a military dictatorship.

Congratulations Ahmadinejad on your successful democratic election. To bad some sore losers are being influenced by foreign powers to try to overthrow you. Continue the good work!

See... this is what I don't get: why are so many people who hate the west bending over backwards to champion Ahmadinejad? To sabiwabi the authenticity of MA's re-election is "obvious", just as the "facts" that the protests are being instigated by western powers and that the protesters are a minority of "educated western-sympathizing elites" are "obvious". Nevermind the reality on the ground, the irregularities in the polling data, the footage of ordinary Iranians getting beaten to death. Nevermind the dissent and power-stuggles occuring among the Iranian clerical and political leadership (men who can hardly be accused of loving America).

The thing is, I am biased the other way but even I was sure MA was going to win prior to the election, and win legitimately! It was only in the light of the painfully obvious vote-rigging that I changed my mind.

Sabiwabi, how many genuine "democratic elections" end with the State beating demonstrators to death in the street? How can you be supporting this? If you hate the west, fine; we have committed our share of evil. But don't support those who victimize their own people! Find an anti-western regime that protects and supports it's citizen's rights, and give your support to that!

    "the Islamic Revolution"

That has seriously screwed up the lives of most Iranians and many people outside Iran.
