Allies pledge $1 billion for Afghan forces

One billion wasted.

They take the wealth of their tax payers and squander it on this impossible stupid project. Infuriating.

I don't where they are going to get the money when their main contributer is many billions in the red already.

And yes, its throwing money down the rabbit hole, just it as it has been for the last 11 years.

Know what I find deeply iornic? The West armed and trained the Mujahideen against the Soviet Army and the then Afghan Army. Now we are training and funding that same Afghan Army to fight against the terrorists we armed and trained in the first place. If it wasn't so tragic I would find it funny.

How come China doesn't have any troops in Afghanistan or financially contribute to Afghanistan's security forces?

At this rate it would have been cheaper to just buy every man woman and child a comfortable home with water and several useful implements, animals and clothing. Instead, the money goes to the criminals and this is the American policy. Palettes of cash go missing and the criminals laugh at the US taxpayer.
