One billion wasted.

They take the wealth of their tax payers and squander it on this impossible stupid project. Infuriating.

I don't where they are going to get the money when their main contributer is many billions in the red already.

And yes, its throwing money down the rabbit hole, just it as it has been for the last 11 years.

Wait a minute, we all need to go to PAWN shops first.

This is the sickest joke ever fabricated, those afghans tipping the taliban laid IED or ambush to kill your servicemen and you guys pay them and those afghans still chanting 'death' (as seen in photo) at you and you still paying them more! Really amusing!

We all need to cool down and examine the initial reason why Bush (W) took us there with credit cards.. It was his wars, and Obama completed the mission.

France (one of NATO) will be pulling out their troops by end of the year. Let's get hell out before we are getting ourselves deeper and deeper in the mud like we did in Vietnam. We (US) are very broke because of these two wars and we are not paying for these wars yet..

Paul Krugman and myself share the same view on this.

And like sheep our (UK) government does whatever your Govt does globalwatcher. Too many men and women have died in this useless war.

That funding will be wasted and we all know it.

Know what I find deeply iornic? The West armed and trained the Mujahideen against the Soviet Army and the then Afghan Army. Now we are training and funding that same Afghan Army to fight against the terrorists we armed and trained in the first place. If it wasn't so tragic I would find it funny.

How come China doesn't have any troops in Afghanistan or financially contribute to Afghanistan's security forces?

"The United States estimates $4.1 billion is needed to fund the Afghan army and police between 2015 and 2017, after the departure of NATO combat troops."

George W. Bush's nation building seems to be coming at the cost of bankrupting the United States. If anyone needs a definition of "sink hole" just re-read this article. Oh, yeah, Americans can't afford teachers, fire fighters or policemen, never mind infrastructure rebuilding. Too bad the Afghan people will never see a single amani. All this money for the criminals, nothing for the Afghan. Sickening.

oops! The total population of Afghanistan. "29,835,392 (July 2011 est.)", http://www.indexmundi.com/afghanistan/demographics_profile.html

At this rate it would have been cheaper to just buy every man woman and child a comfortable home with water and several useful implements, animals and clothing. Instead, the money goes to the criminals and this is the American policy. Palettes of cash go missing and the criminals laugh at the US taxpayer.

Serrano, I missed the important issues on my previous post addressed to you.

1)You may want to watch movie called Gandhi that is a 1982 biographical film based on the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who led the nonviolent resistance movement against British colonial rule in India during the first half of the 20th century. Pakistan and India used to be together as an one country (Hindu/Moslem). His intention was to go independent togethe, but failedr. Since then, Pakistan and India has been in conflict. .

2) I suggest more readings on Chechen War in Afganistan against Russians, and how Al Quida got involved.

These are very important issues, I guess, I failed to mention on my post listed above.

Summary: China/India in conflict India/Pakistan in conflict Russia/Afganistan in conflict

I don't think this will work. As soon as we leave, the country will be in more chaos and the little government we set up will fall.
