Is Amnesty International also blasting Saudi Arabia for taking 0 (zero) refugees?

Aren't the boat people trying to break the law to attempting to enter Australia illegally? Aren't the Australian law enforcement personnel sending a strong message? Wea ARE enforcing illegal immigration!

Amnesty blasts Australia's 'lawless' boat people policy

Wait till they hear about the lawless detention centers where those who slipped through the Fortress Australia net are kept... rape, murder, suicide and depression are some of the less attractive features of these 'lawful' facilities...

Amnesty should spend more money setting up refugee centres and less spouting hot air and flying folks all over the world to do whatever they do.

Perhaps they should seek asylum in another muslim country via Australia. They're obviously not welcomed in australia. Same for the muslim refugees who just made it to Germany.

rape, murder, suicide and depression are some of the less attractive features of these 'lawful' facilities...

Perhaps the authorities deliberately allow those conditions to discourage future attempts of illegal entry by boat people. And to prevent future re-entry of those illegal immigrants who are deported.

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton rejected Amnesty’s report—which follows previous accusations Australian authorities had paid off people-smugglers—as a “slur” and said the country complied with domestic and international law.

Dutton can reject all he wants but the paying off of smugglers actually took place. Notice Dutton did not flat out deny it. Deporting, arresting, rerouting, placement of humans, mind you, in detention centers like in war time is what Australia practices, all to satisfy their 'laws'. On top of that Australian politicians have the gall to lecture the EU on how to handle refugee/migrant problems. You can put yourself on the side you are comfortable with, but the lack of respect for human rights, the way to treat humans faced with persecution by Australia is puzzling to say the least.

EU surely does not need the kind of advice offered by Abbott who managed to embarrass his own country for the world to witness with his border speech at the Margaret Thatcher Lecture He is described as a devout Catholic, which to me means a devout Christian, but is lacking in comprehending and practicing the basic principles of Christianity. It is easy to spy a conservative by the opinions they voice. Opinions that are likely to show their (narrow) horizon and the one that suits their purposes best. Opinions they are entitled to in a free world but do not earn the approval and support of everyone like in “Tony Abbott still making a fool of himself and embarrassing Australia,” “His obsession with pushing people in need away is beyond belief.” as voiced by Greens Senator and asylum seeker advocate Sarah Hansen-Young. The EU needs all advice it can get? Seriously?

Australia does not lecture Europe, yet ex-PM Abbott does: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K30w_o52fEI

He also talks about European "misguided altruism" about thirty seconds after saying that 'Love thy neighbour' is at the basis of every western polity". ANd before that he said that he "was loathe to give public advice to countries whose situations are different", but does so now anyway.

Following this lecture to a bunch of Tory toffs yesterday, the this sarcastic item occurred in Sydney Morning Herald: 'Europe deeply regrets not closing border before Abbott arrived' (http://www.smh.com.au/comment/satire/europe-deeply-regrets-not-closing-border-before-abbott-arrived-20151028-gklev4.html)

As Marcelito says, 'Australia does not lecture ...', but some idiots from there do.

Amnesty is half right about the 'lawless'-ness of Australian asylum-seeker policy; rather it is conducted rigorously under laws passed down-under however spurious as reflection of morally bankrupt and impractical policy (they are trying to get the Philippines to take asylum seekers now after only 5 asylum seekers accepted offers to go to Cambodia plus cheques of $10,000 each). Australia has not seen such policy since British Colonial Office policy for their administrations there in the early 19th century.

Australia's problem is that too many people have their heads in the sand for anything coherent. But certainly the incumbent regime in Canberra does not reflect real Australian sentiment.

Australia should shoot missiles at these brainwashed psychopathic muslim scum in boats . Learn from the mess which the EU has created in Europe before its too late.

Expressing hatred and preaching violence against others based purely on their religion.

You would get along well with those Imams that preach the same against infidels. You basically think the same way, just with different targets of your aggression.

But in my own opinion, I think it's fair to say most Westerners live better lives than the boat people. Why aren't westerners going off to seek asylum in muslim countries? Westerners, especially UK & US, never seek asylum in the first place.

You would get along well with those Imams that preach the same against infidels.

Therefor, most westerners need not worry about getting along with Imams. Rather, that they tolerate the boat people of the Imams.

I just don't agree with the argument that people can simply go wherever they want to go and the country they choose to go to must let them in. When amnesty international has to think about the aspects of actually running an entire country they they can have a say in how, when or where a country takes in immigrants.

amnesty international has become more of joke in recent years taking bribes and making biased papers so I would take anything they say with a mountain pile of salt.

its pretty obvious that they dont seek saftey but wealthy countries with generous wellfare programs else they would have run to the nearest safest country making them migrants not asylum seekers.
