Another example of how little scrutiny is given to the eye-witness accounts of the "survivors." Raised by wolves? Come on!

U.S. citizens by the dozens have been stripped of their citizenship and deported by the erroneous, but blindly vengeful testimony of some of these people. What makes their testimony so sacrosanct?

Now that the wall has been down for almost 20 years, it is time to do a full forensic investigation and put this thing to rest for once and for all.

"Rosenblat’s believers included not only his agent and his publisher, but TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey..."

The most famous talk show host in America, basically the Left's answer to Rush Limbaugh, whose salary almost rivals hers. But that is where the similarities end. Oprah fell for this guy's ghoulish hijacking of the Holocaust, for James Fry's druggy mythomania, and more ominously, given her influence, she fell for the emptiness of "Hope and Change."

adamantine, Isn't Rush more of a guy who leans toward white supremacy?

  • USARonin at 06:15 PM JST - 29th December

Oprah is frequently gettin' blind-sided but never more than when she's tryin' to do somethin' good for the residents of a Chicago tenement or a school in Africa.

  • bebert at 06:16 PM JST - 29th December

Don't give Oprah a rash on this one, she doesn't have the authority to question the veracity of an account by a "holocaust" survivor. Only Jewish holocaust historians have the freedom to challenge a claim. That's why we still have people believing stories about lampshades and soap when even the Anti-Defamation League has declared those atrocity stories to be groundless. Oprah would even have to swallow the "Dances with Wolves" story by the "Mishma" fraudster. So Oprah gets a pass on this one. If you want to take Oprah to task, do it on her racist endorsement for Obama's presidential run.

Oprah has her own producers which are responsible for fact-findin'. Their funds are near limitless.

It's the naievete and bias of Oprah and her producers who "want to believe" that messes with their objectivity for askin' prudent questions. I'm sure she's a nice woman at heart, but she's still a sucker who never learns time after time.

You gotta remember that years ago Oprah was just a female version of Geraldo who had daily shows on lesbian midget mud wrestlers and the like. She was the lowest of the low. -The lowest common denominator just to get an audience and make a buck. I believe Oprah's made a sincere conversion to be a better person... after she struck it rich.

In a statement issued Saturday through his agent, he described himself as an advocate of aquiring $$$ who falsified his past to better aquire $$$.

I question why I never questioned it. I believed it

Eventually, many will be saying this about the most of the holocaust story. So many actually believe The Diary of Anne Frank to be an authentic diary written by the girl.

Has one ever noticed that everytime Israel does ethnic cleansing on its neighbor then one starts to be reminded of the holocaust! This is one way to gain sympathy reminding the world of the holocaust. To me, their current actions are just as wrong as what the Nazis did during the war! It appears if they can't starve them out, then bomb them.

This faked story will serve as food to nourish the angry psyche of anti-Seimitism. Holocaust deniers will use this misguided man's hoax to reaffirm their irrational hatred of Jews. As for the charge that Israel uses the Holocaust as a shield to defend itself from terrorism; that's just ridiculous.

Herman Rosenblat and his wife were using the holocaust sympathy to try to make monetary gains. They were pulling on sympathic purse strings and people's hearts to screw them.

Holocaust deniers will use this misguided man's hoax to reaffirm their irrational hatred of Jews.

No, I don't deny the holocaust, but I see that the public was being used (like usual) to get more holocaust sympathy.

Pitiful attempt to steal more money. After they have lined their pockets with money, then the truth comes out.

This fabricated story of a holocaust survivor's experiences have nothing to do with (1) Israel and even less to do with (2) Zionism. They are a story an individual Jewish person who lied to make a buck. Pure and simple. Let's stick to the facts at hand. Making this story a cause or a result of the current political-military event is disingenuous at best. Questioning the exact details of the holocaust is legitimate, however, as there are many versions of that event, some obviously distorted for monetary and political again.

Let's not use one Jewish person's plagiarism and lies to unfairly tar and smear a whole issue.

Anne Frank did keep a diary (June 1942-August 1944). Several volumes of her own, handwritten, entries survive. These volumes have been forensically tested and found authentic, repeatedly. Many events she describes in her diaries have been corroborated through other sources. External sources also provide historical evidence for events later in her short life, after the last entry in her diary (August 4, 1944). These include her arrest, deportation, transportation to and from various camps. (Westerbork, Auschwitz-Birkenau) We know that she, unlike her writing, didn't survive the holocaust. She died in Bergen Belsen. These camps also exist today, as a stark and undeniable memorials. There may be details from post war publications of her writing that you can question -and I'd like you be specific if you reply- but the broad narrative of this era in our history is indisputable and Anne Frank herself was one of its narrators. She commented on her own life and events in Amsterdam at the time of the German occupation. No belief is required to know that her diary is real nor that these events took place.

Wolfpack: "This faked story will serve as food to nourish the angry psyche of anti-Seimitism. Holocaust deniers will use this misguided man's hoax to reaffirm their irrational hatred of Jews."

Here we go! That's right... if you are angry at this man for pulling on your heart strings, you are an anti-semite. If you didn't believe his story before the truth was revealed, you were an anti-semite.

Sorry, my friend. I don't deny the existence of the holocaust at all. I am not an anti-Semite, either. So my questioning why this man thought he could use the holocaust to make some quick money is not at all rooted in anti-Semitism, nor is my questioning of Israel's 'retaliation' and what's happening in the Gaza strip.

"As for the charge that Israel uses the Holocaust as a shield to defend itself from terrorism; that's just ridiculous."

Not ridiculous at all... you come on here saying that this will nourish the angry psyche of anti-Semitism, as though anyone who disagrees with what was done here is automatically an anti-Semite, and then claim that Israel or people who support Israel are not shielding themselves with the same argument. It's just a shame for you that nothing fits so easily into your, 'with us or anti-Semite' formula.

People have moved on from this topic but I keep coming back to Bebert's comments.

Since the collapse of the wall there has been quite a lot of forensic investigation into -and at- the sites of former concentration camps. Some examples:

There was an archeological survey, conducted under the guidance of Andrzej Kola, prior to the construction of a new memorial at Belzec. The surveys revealed evidence of mass graves and remnants of structures of this Aktion Reinhard camp that was destroyed and abandoned by the Nazis before the end of the war. (See: Belzec, the Nazi camp for Jews in the light of archaeological sources: Excavations 1997-1999, Andrzej Kola) At Sobibor there are still ongoing archeological projects . See: www.undersobibor.com

In 1994, "A Study of the Cyanide Compounds Content in the Walls of the Gas Chambers in the former Auschwitz and Birkenau Concentration Camps." by Markiewicz, Gubala, Labedz, The Institute of Forensic Research, Cracow, was published about samples collected at various locations in the Auschwitz camps. Their findings are consistent with previous use of hydrogen cyanide, the gas released from Zyklon B, in these locations.

This list is by no means exhaustive. I'm curious if Bebert was aware of these studies and what, if any, his opinions are of their findings?
