The best way to protect whales is to eat them and it's time the IWC realised this.
If the IWC doesn't give in to Japan's demands for a resumption of commercial whaling, Japan should go ahead regardless. After all, what's the point in being a member of an international organisation if you don't get your own way, despite bribing half the members?
Enshrine Minke whales in Yasukuni! Then the Japanese will understand why one species is superior to others. Minkes are more important than other marine animals because they are gods. No matter how brutally lobsters are steamed alive, who cares about the death of the inferior beings. I need to go to Nova Scotia to count the number of those inferior beings. I will make sure to cut them between the eyes before I conduct scientific research.
