I speak for only myself here: Its a wonderful time to be a Jew in America if this is all we have to worry about. Mean old white supremacist spreading Jew hate -by FAX Oh my! What on earth to do! Where are my pearls! And why is it 1995?!

(FAX....)

That said, unfortunately, that is not all we have to worry about. The real problem is ignorance. Ignorance about Jews is still fairly common. And leads to rather silly problems, like this one:

“Given that you are a Jewish student and very active in the Jewish community,” Fabienne Roth, a member of the Undergraduate Students Association Council, began, looking at Ms. Beyda at the other end of the room, “how do you see yourself being able to maintain an unbiased view?

I am shocked. I am outraged. But I am not surprised. With Trump and Cruz spreading anti-Muslem hate and North Carolina passing the harshest state laws against LGBTQ people in the U.S. this is the season of the bigot. It is a ripe time for the anti-Semites to ooze out of the woodwork.

So far American cops are not gunning down Jews nor are they being pipelined into prisons. There is not yet a need for a Jewish Lives Matter movement. But this no time to lay back. All bigotry is sinister and potentially deadly. Lest we forget: Bigots in the U.S. own guns. The authors of those anti-Semitic fliers are not harmless wing nuts.

This is the season of the bigot. No one is safe.

Whatever else one might think of Jews, they have made a major contribution to American intellectual life. They are well represented in the professions -- law, medicine, the sciences, finance, business, teaching, etc., and something like 60% are college educated. I've seen figures to the effect that they make up 20% of the faculty members at elite US institutions. Any treatment, covert or overt, that attempts to alienate them would seem counter-productive to the extreme. That it happened at all in this day and age reflects shamefully on US academia.

TRENTON, N.J. — Several colleges across the country are investigating after a rash of anti-Semitic fliers began printing from their network-connected printers or fax machines.

Donald J. Trump did NOT contribute to the prejudice of David Duke, Holocaust Denier and Grand Wizard of the KU Klux Klan!

Donald J. Trump simply refused to condemn categorically the racism, religious prejudice and hatred of the KKK and all Holocaust Denier like David Duke stands for.

Donald J. Trump is not a Holocaust Denier. Donald J. Trump just refused three times to condemn David Duke. Holocaust Denier on live television.

Why are the American so disgusted with Donald J. Trump, torture advocate?
